My painting class in college is allowed to bring in music to listen to, and I thought I'd subject them to a healthy dose of the 'peth and show them some real music. Though I'm a little unsure on which album to play, since I don't want be banned from the stereo or anything :p, due to the other students not liking it. The professor wouldn't mind, since he's pretty out there anyways. I was thinking about Still Life, but I don't know. Anyone?

I'd make a compilation of all of their soft stuff and then time it so that you put a growler towards the end so when everyone goes "what the hell is THAT?", you can explain to them that it's from the same band... :)

Either Still Life or Damnation...definetely.
Oh wait, Morningrise would be good too....meh, I don't know...I'd say Damnation would be more to their liking, but that's just a guess.

Edit: And if you do make a compilation, make sure you include The Moor. Seriously. And Demon of the Fall should be the growler at the end :p

haha, I played music in one of my high school art classes too....I think the only things we listened to were Opeth and Amorphis......I played Still Life, Orchid, Morningrise....eh heck I probably played them all (up to BWP).

No one really seemed to appreciate it ..... :erk:

Back in my pretty much death metal and only death metal days; I had a class where we were going to have a music day and everyone would bring in a song and play it. My friend was going to bring in some good and old Six Feet Under, and I was going to bring in some Deicide. I was going to play Once Upon the Cross, a fucking great song. Now what makes this even better is that my high school was about 70 percent mormon.....Unfortunately, a day or two before the music day the teacher changed his mind. That really disapointed me, I wanted to know how far into the songs we would have gotten before someone made us turn it off.

See if you can play the 9:00 to 15 minute part of Black rose immortal.
Also The drapery falls, Moonlapse vertigo, Face of melinda, and A fair judgement. Almost forgot To bid you farewell.

I couldn't play Damnation anyways, since it's not out yet and I haven't downloaded anything except "Death Whispered a Lullaby" (damn you, 56K!). The compilation idea sounds pretty rockin', so I'll probably go that route. And "Eternal Soul Torture"? No...just...no.
