Still waiting on Felix to do his lead, hence the fadeout.

Comments, questions, suggestions, all welcome.

That's pretty good. Love the lyrics, "recorded on a ghetto blaster" . Bass is maybe a touch loud and a bit flubby/woofy.

Is that you on vocals Oz? Sounds so on the "Master quieter..." part.

I'm doing chorus backups & the varispeed bit before the cleans.

Which reminds me... if some of you guys want to contribute some laughs for the ending, that would be great. mono 24 bit 44.1khz /PM me a link

BTW, was wondering about the bass. I'll get it in check. Thanks for the tip.

Those rhythm guitars are damn tight. Dan should be proud.

I think maybe the vocals need to be a bit more intelligible, since the lyrical content is kind of what the whole deal is about. For some reason I'm having trouble making out most of it, though it could be more of a delivery issue than a mix one.

I look forward to hearing the end product.

+1

Also, I think it should be with real drums, now it's kind of lifeless.

Other than that it's pretty cool

Leave the drums as they are and call the drummer Paul R. O'Toole. :)

I really don't like the vocals. Shows once again that Hetfield has a very recognizeable/unique voice - no matter if you like it or not.

That slow wah lead is so tasteful. It's far too good for anything Hammett could ever play ...

The bass is WAY too loud.
My sub's turned down as quiet as it possibly can be and the bass is ridiculously OTT even on the other side of my bedroom, let alone with me sat right by my computer (sub at my feet.)
With 90% of other mixes, if i take 3-4 steps away from my computer the sub is barely audible, and sat by the computer it's fairly quiet. Probably so the listener can choose how they want to adjust their subs.

Just using a commercial set of Logitech 5.1 speakers. X-530's I believe.

Hope this helps you with the low end!

Already sounds pretty good. I would however try to make the vocals a bit more intelligable (to my ears they also seem to be missing a bit of high-mid/high end) and somewhat louder. Guitars sound great. Bass is definitely a bit too woofy and has very little definition from what I can hear on the cheap ass speakers I'm listening through at the moment. Can't wait to hear this finished :kickass:

Really like the guitar sound. I think you did a really good job capturing the Puppets vibe. \m/
The solos are awesome.

And The part right before the clean break made me lose my shit hahahahaha
YOU DUMB MOTHERFUCKER! HA.

I think the mix is spot on with the vibe (even though there are some tech issues I'm not the biggest fan of, mainly a slight fizz in the guitars).
A +1 on the vocals needing to be more intelligible.

Well, I'm not digging the guitartone. I would've made it a bit more scooped to give it more bite. And yeah, the bass needs more growl.
The clean part is too dry. I would add some more reverb to the cleans and A LOT to the leadharmonies. That solo was ace! incredibly nice, what bothers me though is that the last note didn't ring out!
The clean part with distortion (4:45) needs to appear louder imo. I've never liked clean guitars being as loud as distorted guitars. So lower the clean part(3:38-4:45) earlier with some db's.
at 5:17 wasn't it supposed to be a part that sounds clipped to death? like when he says ...ghettoblaster. Or something like that?

I'm really interested to hear the final product.
