The Ballad of Roland D.O.G - Guestsolo wanted (ShreddyMarz, what´s up)

Dude, Felix ...

I'm not gonna even bother trying to do a solo for this ... there is no point in trying. If you can't pick out the perfect one between Marco's and Decimator's ... well, NO solo will ever be good enough ;)

Guys, those fucking solos were GREAT:worship:

Why not trying it, dude? You´ve proofed your quality on "The Gunslinger´s Ka". Still think, this solo is an awesome composition :)

^ Danke bro :)

I actually was kinda messin with something last night ... lets see if I can make something out of it

I realize I have the same issue as Marco. I guess in terms of how long it takes me to work out a solo, I should be able to write out and play what I hear in my head quicker than I actually do :)

Ok remember I don't know shit about blues scales and what not ... don't even know if thats something you were really pushing for with a solo for this tune but here's what I came up with last night. Its sloppy and not very well recorded but there's some ideas in there I think

Be kind :p

hehe cool beachboy vibe at the end carlos!
you and I are on the same wavelenght on those things I think

Cool solos dudes!

@Mago - Nice melodic solo. And you said that you suck at solo pffft :)

@padr81 - You can slow down a bit, this is not a speeding contest :)

@Felix - Fat sound! Nice shred. At first sounded strange that you ended the solo in G, but I forgot the backing changes scale to C after the solo backing. Nice :)

@Skinny Viking - Bluesy licks man! Don't underestimate yourself!

Haha cool :) Carlos, you know you got your skills and technique. But again..I highly recommend learning, at least, using the blues scale. And learning to know/to hear what scale for which accord sequence and when! Get yourself the "Rock Guitar secrets" book. AND THIS...

...Is pure gold! If you don´t find a teacher, feel free to ask me about different stuff.

@Mago - Thanks man! To be honest beachboys never crossed my mind ... I actually feel like I was kinda ripping off old Maiden at the end there a bit :p

@Decimator - I appreciate the vote of confidence :) To be honest, I'm not too thrilled with about 50% of that solo but I think part of that is cause I was trying too hard to only think in one way ;)

@Felix - I guess the main reason I never bothered actually learning shit is cause my formative years on the guitar were spent immediately in getting my songwriting down. Playing leads and understanding scales and modes was always a secondary thought ... I was more interested in being able to write what I hoped were killer songs and just being good enough to play the shit out of them :D hahaha That being said, I do feel I should be a LOT better than I am at leads so I guess its about time I start working on the knowledge end of things

Damn all the solos are sweet. Just make that section 64 bars long and put them ALL in there!!!:kickass:

:D

@Oliver, you did that with 3 fingers, huh :p hahaha

Yeah, as I cut my ring finger on saturday, I couldn't use it much. Still not healed 100% so I had to do some vibratos with my middle finger which sucks donkey balls.

Damn .. you know, this is exactly the solo I was gonna play but I changed my mind at the last minute :D hahahaha
haha, excellent:D
