:zombie: Okay, maybe I should rephrase myself. Trey does have talent, but his solos sound like noise. I realize that that is the whole concept of his sound, but it's not that difficult to play. Talent doesn't really matter in this case anyway, Morbid Angel is awesome.
he uses some pretty crazy, extraterestrial-like scales in his soloing. his technique is what makes him so sweet though. even if you can play his stuff, it is hard to sound like trey azagthoth...i mean, just watching the guy play is eerie. the way he holds and flows on the guitar is amazing. as a guitarist, he probably stands out from the rest of the croud more than any guitarist that i know. and yes, morbid angel is rocking. i'm not trying to argue, i'm just telling you why your wrong from my point of view.
im just listening to this song, and i wonder why the solo isnt there where mikael goes "aaaahhh, aaahhhh" at 7:06. i think steven came up with the idea, he even plays the solo on lamentations, but maybe mikael didnt think it was a good idea to add it. what a shame.
I'm pretty sure Mikael said in an interview a while ago that he was influenced by Gateways To Annihilation when writing the album. That makes sense to me but either way, the riffing style of Master's Apprentices and Altars of Madness is light years apart. The person who said that needs to burn in the fires of Bil Ur-Sag Lul-Lu Nig-Hul Tur Ha-Elm Zalag
