I've been meaning to post a thread about these guys for some time.
They were and still are, in my opinion, the best American Progressive/Avant-Garde band around.
Bath/Leaving Your Body Map are both absolute masterpieces in their own rights.

And Kayo Dot are also quite astounding as well.

I love Kayo Dot, but I must admit I wasn't as pleased with the second album as I was with the first (although it's still an excellent album). Choirs of the Eye is just as perfect of an album as you can get, in my opinion. Every song is flawless. Don't Touch Dead Animals from the Bloody Panda split was very good though. It'll be interesting to hear what direction the new album will go, seeing as they don't really have a band anymore outside of Toby and Mia.

Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tounge is just...fucking weird
that's the only way I can describe it, fucking weird, particuarlly __On Limpid Form, great album, but...it's different.
And if that album is weird than I can only imagine what the new album is going to sound like.

But no matter what he's in, Toby Driver is amazing
although I am going to miss Greg Massi

Ahh I can't wait for the new album! The Useless Ladder excerpt is absolutely beautiful. This stuff sounds really, really good. Seems like it would have been an awesome show to see, as well. It seems like the vocals are more upfront than in past works, which I think is great. Toby's voice + heavy reverb = gold.
