Towards Vikingity
Hey people, I had a little question:

I'm planning on getting a decent microphone, not brilliant and all professional, but a proper one, for rehearsing and recording stuff.
Any suggestions?

for recording? Or live rehearsals?

Live - Shure SM-58

Recording - Audio Technica 3035

Well, it is primarily for non-professional recording and stuff at home, maybe for rehearsing.
If I ever get to gigging with me on vocals, that too probably. I just want to have something decent in case I get somewhere. Honestly, what's a musician without a microphone?

Then get the 58, it's the best for all around general stuff.

I'm pretty sure my friends got one of those and he uses it for flowing (as in hip-hop). It sounds really good and clear, but it picks up sounds almost too well. For example, you got to be really careful about not being too close to the mike when making "pah" sounds becaue it maganifies those type sounds ten fold.

Basicly inside the mic there is a small dyaphram that your voice hits and it is turned into a signal, When sing on sillaballs like "PER" you make the dyaphram shake. making a small poping noise.

Feel free to fill in any gaps anyone

You guys should listen people singing in portuguese without windscreens...portuguese is somewhat sloppy, and all you can hear in those gigs is the 'puffing' sound...
