Melodic Death

Wintersun.

Actually it's just metal with tons of different influences.

(note: I'm wearing Wintersun hood-thing atm.)

Edit: well I have noticed that CoB and Norther are pretty light (atleast the old stuff)
But it's still mostly non-powermetal, even if it didn't have those vocals.

Hmm...I think (atleast old CoB) should be called Dark metal...

Edit2: According to Metal archives...

CoB;

Norther;

I wouldn't believe everything the 'all knowing' Metal Archives says. They have been know to be wrong. On many occaisions.

I mean, for starters, death metal has to have death metal vocals at least, and most melodeath bands at least have that as the primary vocal style. COB and Norther don't. And besides they are really ordinary anyway.

I say we resolve this important conflict by deeming them both 'melodic shitty awful metal for fags'

Swallow the sun (ghosts), Daylight Dies (dismantling devotion).. +1 Insomnium!

Yeah, I'll agree on Swallow The Sun and Daylight Dies, both awesome bands, even though they are a bit more death/doom, but hey still very melodic, and certainly closer to melodeath than Children of fucking Bodom!

I don't expect you to know any better, after all you're from a place called siikajoki, which judging by the absurd amount of letters from the IJK part of the alphabet is in finland, home of the worst metal in the world
Always at least, one idiot on this board. Get lost somewhere. If you don't have anything valuable to contribute.:heh:

lol am I not allowed or something

fact is I contributed by listing a melodeath band that doesn't suck dick and hadn't been mentioned, you all should be praising me

Yeah, dude, came into this thread purely to make sure the Method had a mention. Currently listening to 'Of Words, Will and Power' from the 3 track demo I have. Fantastic band.

Yeah, total shame that they had all of the line-up problems and what not. They had some of the best metal guitarist in Australia pass through their ranks at one point or another. And a shame they only managed the one full-length before biting the dust.

Amon Amarth I guess. They are a very good band, I saw them live and their life performance is great even better than Opeth to be honest !

Opeth is somewhat like " Lets play the songs, and lets enjoy the music together with audience."

While Amon Amarth is " Lets go fucking insane and headbang like theres no tomorrow and drink lots of beer."

Also, Hegg's growling is very very good, you feel like a fucking beast talking there.

Try Virus by Hypocrisy. It's sometimes more death metal oriented than melodeath but it's mostly just really, really good melodic death metal. Try "Let the Knife Do the Talking" or "Craving for another killing"
