Has anyone seem them on their current tour?

Hoooooooly CRAP!

:OMG:    :notworthy

I saw them last night in Cleveland and they absolutely smoked! The only thinked that wasn't great was Peabody's sound. Sometimes I would only hear bass, or one of the tom mics would seem to overload (or something) and make a nasty noise. The setlist they played was amazing. A great mix of old stuff with 3 Howe era songs (my personal fav) Badlands, Fake Healer, and Date With Poverty thrown in. I could probably remember the set list if anyone wants to see it.

Meliah Rage was the main opener and I was really anxious to see these guys and I wasn't disappointed. I never had a chance to see them back in the day, but the wait was worth it. The only thing that would of made it better was more tracks off the first 2 CD's. They started their set with Begining of the End and ended up playing Bates Motel, Solitary Solitude, and the Pack from the first 2 discs.

Dark Arena was a nice surprise. I've never heard them before and always heard good things. I just wish I knew their material.

The first opener (whose name I can't remember) was decent.

I would have loved to see them on this tour, but their No Cal date was in MODESTO!! wtf? how do the people in the land of Scott Peterson rank! No way was I driving out there to see them...

Pick up their debut, Alien Factor, right away. They plan to have a new album out this year as well... possibly two if things REALLY go quickly. ;)

I saw them at the Pearl Room in Mokena on Tuesday. As always, they tore the place up! Ronny handles all of the old material perfectly, and it's great to see Jeff in a band that lets him be wilder with his playing. The new material sounds even better live. I personally could have done without Meliah Rage, but there was a really good local band that opened named Cable. They're a solid hard rock band. You can find them on MySpace. Check them out.

Stay metal. Never rust.
Met-Al

I went to the St. Paul show. Metal Church always puts on a great show and the guys in the band are way cool.

I am EXTREMELY jealous of all of you that got to see Meliah Rage. Their lead singer had a death in the family and had to leave the tour for 3 days - we were the third day. :( They played a 5 song instrumental set which was still cool, but I had been waiting 19 years to see the full band :( FYI, they are recording a new album when they return to Boston and plan to tour again this summer/fall. I got to spend a ton of time talking to them and they are totally awesome guys.

...still waiting for the rest of setlist...tease...

It's nice to know they're performing a good mix of material...(especially Howe era material)...

Rock on!

Here is the setlist, in no particular order:

Watch the Children Pray
Ton of Bricks
Gods of Wrath
Cradle to Grave
Fake Healer
Badlands
Date With Poverty
Highway Star
Beyond the Black
Start the Fire
A Light in the Dark
Mirror of Lies

I echo all of these sentiments....it was a killer show. Very tight...

I did not know how good Metal Church was as a live band. I know they smoke on album (I figure it would follow that they are good live, but y'never know).

I will be seeing them on the 30th in NC.

Wow, what a killer setlist!!! David Wayne era stuff just owns, and anyone that doesn't have all the albums is seriously lacking. Can't wait til Tuesday for the Rochester show!! MELIAH RAGE kicks tons of ass too....!! Whoo hoo!!

I'd love to see this show, but 6 hours away on a weeknight just won't happen for me. :erk:

On a side note, I prefer Ronnie over the other singers in Metal Church's past. Urban Breed comes to mind when I hear Ronnie Monroe sing. :kickass:
