Don't know very much details, but the tour is indeed over as of now. They may or may not play the BB Kings gig tomorrow night. I will post more when I find out more details. Thought you guys should know.
That is just swell. Should have known better that the big US tours always end up in a funnel. Cannot wait to see a real tour in Europe. Now I am really pissed off, I ll go grab my sword and break stuff.

Kinda glad I didn't buy my plane ticket to go see AA in New York.

Fuck man its cancaled and its all because of one asshole, what the fuck. Ive been looking to this for months and now what. Maybe amon amarth can rig something up, get some of the bands who actually fucking care about their fans and keep it going. This got so much hype......

You bring a god point, just when there are several Metal tours with a lot of potential to unite the fans (Metal Gods, DT/QRYCHT/FW, Maiden/DIO/MH) ... this happens and all because of dough.

Europeans, my admiration to you all for always keeping the faith and not having to deal with greedy muhterfuckin' scam.

Damnit....

THE 2003 METAL GODS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR Cancelled!!! - May 2, 2003
The 2003 Metal Gods North American Tour, a multi-band package featuring HALFORD, co-headliners TESTAMENT, IMMORTAL, CARNAL FORGE, PRIMAL FEAR, PAINMUSEUM, and AMON AMARTH, has been officially cancelled due to "contractual difficulties."

The following is the official statement on the matter from HALFORD manager John Baxter:

"I'm sorry to have to report the following, but the tour has to be brought to an end after this weekend's New York performances because of contractual difficulties.

"I learned on Tuesday, that inappropriate activity had been carried out days prior to the Chicago show, without my knowledge and approval. The unapproved activity has financially affected the tour.

"For legal reasons nothing further can be said for the moment. A formal press statement will be prepared after we obtain additional instruction from counsel.

"We know ultimately this affects each of you, so I will look at re-booking some/all of the dates. The dates however, will not include The Metal Gods lineup.

"Please try and provide me with your patience while I review and determine how best to move forward.

"Thank you.

"John Baxter"

I am so fuckin' pissed, all I could do tonight was to go mourn at my local Irish pub. I always thought that TRUE metal was not about money, I suddenly realized that I had been dead wrong since day one, at least when it comes to US tours. I still wonder how my comrades in Europe manage to do X-Mas, summerclash,.... festivals sometimes featuring up to 10 bands w/o any conflict. Anyways, one big band usually turns out to be the root of all problems, so I won't name any right now and wait for an official statement. I hope AA, Immortal and some others can go on with the tour. If not, see you around in Europe this summer.

TRUE METAL WILL PREVAIL

:tickled:
I just can laugh at this shit...hahahaha...Okay, I think I have to explain:loco:
AA cancelled the Rock Hard festival (Germany) to go on the Metal Gods Tour, and now this got fucked up, too.
:tickled:
Sorry guys, I only can laugh of pain. Hope, they don't kill Summer Breeze, too...Then it would be really shitty.

well when you get a band as big and famous as halford then of course money's going to matter. this was one of the few things i had to look forward to, now i'm going to have to up my daliy dosage of midol...drug abuse, yes, but it gets me through the days. fucking cocksuckers.

I was caught in a similar situation...a girl at work asked me to go to her prom, and I told her I couldn't because I was going out of town to go to New England Metalfest. Now I don't even have enough money to go to Metalfest...and I'll be home...moping around doing nothing. :erk:

Sometimes every metalfan is such a happy guy (or girl), and sometimes everything just goes wrong. Shit, but that's life:)
