"Metal Lists" book and Divebomb UK bands...hahaha

The debate isn't about the Grimace though. Nobody is arguing about Chateaux or Medusa. Grim Reaper came out when the NWOBHM was over. It wasn't a new wave anymore; it was just metal.

You are wrong. I hate to question the metal authorities that you two are but the band was indead around during the movement. Matt says the demos do not count, well an album in 1983 would. Besides the goddamn movement was created off of DEMOS. When the term was coined after the show with Maiden, Samson, and Angel Witch two of those bands did not have albums or singles at the time. The "scene" was driven on demos. Still that is not even my point here just wanted to point that out..

"Wrong again Luthor"

It is agreed by most the end of the NWOBHM was 1983, 'Kill'em All' was released in 1983:Smug:

So from what you are saying Grim Reaper just squeaked it out over the finish line of a dying NWOBHM scene in 1983? But they are still "part of the scene"

So i guess they could be considered coat tail riders then.

Ask Geoff Barton, would love to hear it from someone that lived it.

Also, never said I was an authority I am simply putting my evidence on the table to back up my side of the discussion.

Coattail riders as much as any late comer like Jaguar.
But I agree with the Wiki source not that reliable; I was merely pointing out that others also consider Grim Reaper in.
So let's check another source shall we?

Your rebuttal?

A minor point, the line-up they are saying is part of the NWOBHM appears to be a trio (unless i am misunderstanding the book's format by not including later joining members in those listings). Minus the Grimmett, which would be the first demo, correct? So despite the book claiming they were a part, they are not including the album you are saying was part.

Also, Jaguar had two singles released by 1981. Not really late comers, considering they are on the box set. Flip to their listing. ;)

really, do you want picture of they next four pages which does include a discovery?
I realize this is difficult but except the fact there is enough evidence to the contrary of your point.
I suppose to argue the years of the NWOBHM and what bands made it in or not is sort of like discuss the renaissance and when it started and ended, it is all up for debate. But when you admit that the last year would have been 1983 and Grim Reaper's first album was 1983... well I don't need to point out the contradiction.

I never said it ended in 1983. That was someone else. I say it ended before then. I mean Pyromania was out in 83, right?

I have nothing to add to the ongoing Grim Reaper argument. I just wanted to say I was not aware of that NWOBHM book's existence before it popped up in this thread. I love books like that, so I promptly placed an order for a copy.
