In the coming weeks there will be soooo many new releases coming out...
Iced Earth-The Blessed & The Damned
Van Halen-Best fo Both Worlds
The New Dio disc...
Dream Evil-The Book of Heavy Metal!!!!
and then there's the just issued:
George Lynch-Furious George(all covers, but I'd love to hear his spin on these.)
Schenker's-Endless Jam
Kevin Dubrow's cover record, which has been getting excellent reviews, I haven't see a bad one yet.
Kotipelto-Coldness
I'm sure there's many more.
What did I miss? I know there's tons more these are just the ones I have been looking out for......

Yeah, you guys should know how much it costed me to join up the oldschool forum...re-releases, oldschool bands reforming, superb new metal bands advised by oldschoolers, .... I got to feed my kids you know ...

Still...I will hang around some time :D

Chinese Democracy?!?! hahaha

You guys will slay me for this one but METALLICA- SOME KIND OF MONSTER.....I picked this up today at Best Buy for only $6.99....I figured what the hell...for that price it's pretty cool. It's about 8 songs recorded live in Paris plus the movie trailers on enhanced cd. The live tracks prove that love 'em or hate em, they've still got it and Robert Trujillo is a HELLUVA bassist. Just my opinion....SWINE, email me on that one....

Dream Evil might be out in Europe, but it set for U.S. release on 7.27.04...
The Metallica E.P. is what it is. I'm not overly excited about it, the songs are decent,
Robert smokes that rubber faced Newsted. God, I have grown to dislike that turncoat! And yeah Chinese Democracy?! The GNR cover band, what's worse I think is the Metal Church cover band!!!! Sorry I just had to bust your balls about that one! I ordered, the Lynch disc & The Scjenker Jam disc through Half.com.
I also have to get Dubrow's, that thing has been getting excellent reviews!!!
No one here has heard the Kotipelto disc?! I read that Romeo tears it up on that record!!!!
I also had in my hands, the new Dream Theater dvd, I should have boguth that mo'fo' looked killer!

Hate to be a nuissance but I got it a month ago :D

Next in line I'm waiting for:

Stormhammer - "Lord Of Darkness" (very interested)
Nightwish - "Once" (very afraid)
Beholder - "Lethal Injection" (somehow curious)

And of course Judas Priest, Exciter (go Clammy, go!), and maybe more stuff I'm not aware yet :p

I was reading an article on Distant Thunder, sounds interesting.
How is that record?! They called Rivera "The Mexican Dio."
SIXXSWINE-\m/
Rivera has been in the Metal scene forever and it's great to see him back with a band that screams "Helstar"!
I don't think it's the best thing he's ever done, but it's still a must have for US Power Metal fans. Anyway, how can it be bad when James sings on a record? :loco:

"The Mexican Dio", well why not, he's a very small guy indeed ahah! Vocally he's different though. He has a voice on his own, in the 80s he sounded like a cross between Halford and Dickinson with a quite lyric style, now his voice may be a bit closer to Dio and Tony Martin, without being a clone of any of these legends. He just rules :worship:

I like Rivera way better than Dio but thats just crazy me o_O Rivera is soo damn good live. I've seen him in Helstar, Destiny's End and Seven Witches he never fails. Besides that he's avery nice guy. Easy to talk with. Easy one of my favorite live performers.

The Nightwish isn't bad at all. There are some great songs on there. Lot more orchestration and choral stuff. I think it's worth it.

agree with you there psychonaut, the new nightwish is pretty cool.
i brought it cause i really liked the video for nemo, the standout track on the album imho, but the rest of it is pretty damn fine too.
they're playing live tonight in london i think.shame i cant make it.god knows how they fit that choir and orchestra on stage! :D

So what do you think?! Is it great?! I read where they have gone more down the "HARD ROCK" road on this one... Either way, I like that band a lot!!!!!:p

is that the album with the "i'm so fucking metal, and so's my wife?"lyric on it?
if it is,its a damn classic. :headbang:
just like manowar doing nessan dorma(excuse poor spelling)totally cheesetastic,in a codpiece and broadsword type way. :D

Nope it's the new album.
Not bad if you ask me, catchy at times... I still think they're overrated though. But that's just me.

Of all the aforementioned I'm looking forward to the New Dio and Judas Priest CDs. True old school! I just saw the album cover for the new Dio, "Master of the Moon" and it's by far one of the coolest covers ever!

I loved it, but don't take my opinion too seriously cause I'm a huge Kotipelto fan ;) But I still like the first one better, it has cooler more metal riffs, this new one is more melodic. Reasons is a kickass song :)
