Metallica - Death Magnetic ripped!

Ok guys, seems my comments are getting far and wide and getting used a little out of context. Y'know I like the fact we can all come on here and talk and have a laugh, and actually learn. I was talking to Deron at Ultimate Metal the other day and this forum has become the busiest on the site, which I was genuinely surprised about. The whole Metallica/clipping thing is something that is going to go on and on and should really be on the ultimate metal general forum.
So can I suggest we move all metallica related threads there as although its a talking point from an audio recording point of view, its become such a lively debate that I feel its overshadowing the real reason for this forum. Agreed?

Well they closed the master of muppets thread..... not what was hoped for, since that was a great collaboration in the making....

I'm glad to be reading and posting here among intelligent and educated people.
I just read the direction has gone to the moved threads and I can't believe what I'm reading! Senseless comments, anger and nothing constructive. Since 2005 I only visit this forum and will be doing so for the time being.

The Sneap Forum users are the best.

Absolutely +1

I thought, I don´t read it correct...what kind of stupid "behind forest residents"are this ? Zero sense of humor. I will stay at the sneap forum.

My beautifully stereotypical imagery... ruined...

loooool :headbang:

Does someone know something about this ?? Someone listen to it already ?

Metallica - Death Magnetic
Remastered by eetfunk (from Guitar Hero 3 FLAC files)
-----------------------------------------------------

Death Magnetic is easily Metallica's greatest album in almost 2 decades.
DON'T STEAL IT, BUY IT.

After almost 10 years out of the audio engineering business, I thought it was
time for a comeback when I heard the original version of Death Magnetic. The
mastering is a disaster and there was no way I was going to listen to all this
digital clipping for the next 20 years.

I'm releasing my work for those who bought the album and want a better-sounding
version. DON'T USE MY WORK IF YOU HAVEN'T BOUGHT THE ALBUM. I mean it.

What I've done:

- I took the GH3 FLACs a great soul posted on a popular bittorrent site;
- I applied many effects (gently) including EQ, multi-band compression,
limiter and harmonic exciter;
- I encoded the result to FLAC (lossless) and to MP3 (LAME 320kbps);

While I don't pretend this version of the album is perfect, I think it's a
major step forward. There are a few minor imperfections in the GH3 source,
which most of you won't notice. It took me roughly 2 weeks (on and off) and
many listening sessions in different environments to obtain this result. This
is mainly due to the fact that I don't have proper proaudio equipment anymore.

I hope you like it. See you on tour!

google "death magnetic eetfunk"...?

I found this nice program on the web by CuteStudio called SeeDeClip Duo and tried the Lite demoversion on the Death Magnetic and it actually made it quite tolerateable:

declip_deathmagnetic_test.png

http://www.ahjteam.com/upload/declip_deathmagnetic_test.mp3 (first 29 seconds of the CD-version, then of the 29 seconds the declipped version. I lowered the gain on the CD-version by 4.9dB to match the replay gain)

Somebody told me the other day that there were 12,000 people that had signed a petition to remix the record. We've sold two and a half million copies of 'Death Magnetic'. You do the math yourself."

Translation:

People have bought the album, I don't give a fuck if they enjoy it or not, as long as their money is in my pocket.
