I've always fucking loved this song. People point out almost any song but this one for some reason...

And I don't know why Load is considered shit, there are some mighty fucking songs on that album, King Nothing, Ain't My Bitch, Hero of the Day, Until It Sleeps, The House Jack Built, 2x4...those are off the top of my head, I do realize half of that album is pretty unlistenable though... Mama Said, classic country metal...:p

If they "don't give a fuck what the audience thinks, and write and play the music they want" they would not have dropped the St. Anger stuff. They have no respect for anything they make, and don't care about music anymore. They really need to retire.

You cannot be a musician...

Seriously, a band is allowed to play music that YOU do not like...

Because you are retarded.

Sorry dude, but fuck how can you not give any credit to this band? It's like saying Mozart is a retard or something...:goggly:

Did you read my post? They dropped the stuff they just made, because noone liked it. They say that they play what they want, but they don't. They play what sells. They made St. Anger because nu-metal was selling. They don't respect real music anymore and have no originality. NONE. I am not saying that every band must play music I like. I would respect them more if they played St. Anger, because they need to stand by the music they made. and yes, I am a musician, and no, you cannot read English.

Personally I like St. Anger, but I lost a lot of respect for them when they never played a song off of it. It's like the redheaded bastard step-child of the Metallica albums.

haha
The only songs that they could play from that album well were st anger and frantic, they tried skom and sweet amber and they sucked...as well as dirty window and the unnamed feeling,
That album had alot of potential but it was fucked

Dude, they are playing concerts, different shit. You make albums for art, and play shows to give the people the live experience. If nobody likes the new album, why play the new album? BTW, they've a shitload of albums to pick and choose from, if they only play 2 songs from St.Anger, well that's just the fucking luck of the draw. Judas Priest did a world tour and did not play a single song off of Defenders of the Faith, you know why? I sure the fuck don't, but they've a huge discography, and leaving out parts of it doesn't really hurt anyway, so it don't really matter...

The first 5 albums were great, after that they stepped a bit away from the oldschool metal thing imho...

The first five albums were great. After that though, I thought they sucked.
Kill Em All and Master Of Puppets are probably my two favorite albums.

The majority of bands, even older bands, play stuff off the newer albums more than the older. Metallica and apparently Judas Priest are not following this trend. My point is, if Metallica didn't give a fuck what the public wants, they would play the new shit, because that is what is newest and most fun to play. They would play old stuff, but new stuff would be there as well. Instead, they are simply trying to sell tickets and CD's. They are selling out.

What do you say to people who say you sell out?
Lars Ulrich said:
Yeah we sell out. And we sell out every fucking night.
Point made.

Point made.

Saw Metallica at Donington a month back, best set ever. They played what the fans want to here. They played the whole Master of Puppets album, the one album that people would love to here most. I cumed. Enough said.

If selling out means they sell millions of records and sell out every show I believe that is a great thing.

As with "Take That" ? Commercial success =/= artistic success.
