mexicans are the devil

Once I was a little stoned on mdma and I went outside of the club I was at to cool off and take a breath of less polluted air, and some guy from the states (I think California) started talking to me, he was telling me how great he thought Toronto was, how the people are cool and the cops don't fuck with you and how you can do what you want and be who you are and no one gives you any grief about it (this is pretty much the standard crap we hear from Americans at raves and raver club parties and the like), but then this guy started going on about "spics" (mexicans) and how in the US the "spics" will attack whites and cut them up and stab them for fun and shit cuz "they don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves and they think violence is cool".

I was horrified by this, particularly cuz I was in happy/lovey mode cuz of the mdma. I thought the guy was an idiot, but now I feel kind of sorry for him, if those were his experiences then I can't really blame him for feeling the way that he does. But I can't help but think that the state of affairs in mexico is what has lead up to them taking crystal and attacking innocent americans on rave parties.

Stereotypes sucks, but there's always a little bit of truth to them, even if we don't like it.

what state of affairs?
the young mexicans who live on the states and go to rave parties are already north americans.they are usually born there and live their entire life there

He's right. I'm Mexican but I was born in the United States.

As far as the stereotype, it is due largely to cholos (hispanic gangsters) who are so stupid they think that Mexican pride is all about being in a gang and always with "la raza" or whatever. These people are idiots and it's very sad that many people base our culture on them.

OK, this is a serious question to the Hispanic people on the board. What I'm about to say doesn't apply to Hispanic people born in the U.S., just immigrants it seems. Is it socially acceptable and even complimentary to ogle women like meat? Oh...my...GOD, it's so irritating. Like, I'll be at a stoplight and some truck keeps creeping up beside me, and I make the mistake of turning my head, and I see like 15 Hispanic dudes grinning and going apeshit. And it's not flattering because they do it even when I haven't showered, my hair's in a ponytail, and I'm wearing glasses and sweats. And every girl I've ever talked to has had the same experiences. It happens EVERYWHERE. When I walk by, they do all these catcalls and speak to me in Spanish like I have any fucking clue what they're saying (I suppose that's the point). They even do it when they're with their girlfriends/wives/children!!! I know this sounds like a huge stereotype, but OH MY GOD. What's with that? I tell myself they mean well, but it still gives me the heebie-geebies.

The D.C. area didn't have many Hispanics until the last couple years, so my exposure was limited to experiences like I've described above. But there's been an explosion of them here, as everywhere I guess. And there are very admirable qualities I've observed in their culture. (And perhaps "their" is wrong, since I'm sure they're from many different countries.) But holy crap, talk about work ethic. I'm used to seeing black lower class, and the Hispanic lower class is just completely different -- no sense of entitlement yet, which is very refreshing. And I envy their sense of community and neighborly attitudes. My friend has an apartment in an entirely Hispanic neighborhood, and they have block parties like every night. I'd hate living there and listening to salsa music all day and night, but I like the way they all come together. God, I sound like such a little white girl.

oh yeah, that...it's some custom (be thankful you don't understand what they say to you) among lowlifes, I can't say much about it, they don't do it when an unknown male is present, just don't think all hispanic people acts like that, like I said, it is something that just the vermin do, it may happen to you on a regular basis because, well, most of the hispanic people migrating to the US are poor, culture-less, rejected scum, but not all mexicans are like that.

heh, I don't need anything to kick your ass, but I will do it tomorrow, please have a seat and wait
