Mic for acoustic guitars

What would be the best mic to record my acoustic guitar? In the 200-300 price range.

I've been researching this as well, looking for an upgrade over my AT3035. The 3035 does a really nice job though, very transparent and gives a true, if slightly boring representation. I'd like a slightly more coloured tone. The quality of instrument and mic positioning plays a really big role. I'd like to try a Cascade Fathead with a Lundahl tranny, big and fat but with an open top end. I think that is exactly $300. Most obvious suggestion though is an SDC like an SM81. Might have to eBay that though to get it within budget. The Studio Projects SDC's have a nice rep for less cash.

I liked what I got from an AT4040 and you can use it for vocals and pretty much everything except distortion guitars.

I like the MXL 603s. very cheap, works good.

4040, or rode nt5s are cheap

AT4040s are amazing, but extremely sensitive in my experience, don't use in a bad acoustic space.
