Mikaels Performance On Ayreon, and thoughts on the album

I just recently purchased Ayreon's "The Human Equation" due to praise i had read and the fact that Mikael, James LaBrie and Devin Townsend were on it,

i have to say that the first scream Mikael does on "Trauma" is fucking ace, and when his voice comes in on the songs you can really see how he fit the part of Fear, i think he performed really well

Overall the album was really suprising, i didnt know anything about Ayreon but i was very hapyp with the unique blending of styles and the folky/lacuna coily feel of the whole thing

Akerfeldt was easily the best male vocalist on there. Possibly the best vocalist of all.

Great album but BE has it beat.

well, i would just say that M.akerfeldt performances on this album are not better than usual..it's just him , a lot better than about 95% of the actual singers...the album is a bit cheesy though...
about Be, it should be released the 27th of september..worldwide i think...otherwise, you can download the promo version on DC++..

Uhm, you can clearly hear he improved the growls and his clean vocals on THE. Akerfeldt never stops getting better, I guess.

BE is insane. The only negative aspect of it is that it's really too diverse. There's no real connection between the songs, lyrically there is. But you don't ''feel'' a connection.
Lots of different vocal styles and lots of samples. Ingenius ending. However, it's a bit too short. It only has hits, though.

I think the best male vocal performance is by that Saviour Machine guy, he has the most distinguishable voice ever.. Mikael is also good, esp. the growls.
