Miscellaneous TV thread

The humour in Family Guy is so varied. Sometimes it is very calculating and witty, and other times just downright stupid and lame.

yeh, plus it tends to get old fast and really tends to rely on one of Peters weird arse flash backs to provide a laugh...heh, works for me

I have a question on Prison Break. I saw part of the last episode of the season, and in one bit one dickhead chopped off another escapee's hand. Why did he do that?

Episode 4 (The Girl In the Fireplace) ranks as one of the best things I've ever seen on TV, Doctor Who or not :headbang:.

The Cybermen story will blow you away, but it's really only a curtain raiser. Stay tuned...

Lets just say the ending was very clever for TGITF:heh:

Cos T-Bag had pretty much blackmailed his way into the whole escape, and at one stage slit the throat of Abruzzi. He knew that he was on borrowed time should he make it over the wall, so handcuffed himself to Michael in an attempt to keep himself alive.

Brit crime fans may be interested to know that the fourth series of Wire In The Blood starts on ABC on August 11th :headbang:

Good news:

Australia is the first country in the world to see it (Val McDermid told me that herself when I met her in March).

The second episode (of four) is an adaptation of The Torment Of Others (book four in the series).

Bad news:

Hermione Norris will no longer play Carol Jordan. Rather than recasting the role, they've created a new character that has nothing to do with the books. Boo!

Ah, thanks, that makes more sense now! I don't know who those characters are, but I get the gist of it.

Wire in the Blood was pretty cool, my wife loves that show, she'll be pleased to hear this.

I learnt the second series of Battlestar Galactica is back on Wednesday nights after the late news, yay!

Awesome to see Yasmin getting dumped but 10 have agreed to foot the wedding bill, so she isnt a total loser...

anyone watching Penn & Teller? I saw the Alien theory one - It was hilarious when the showed this woman an anal bead vibrator spray painted gray and she said "oh yes thats what they used to do their probe up my.. nose!" Priceless!

I like it when reality shows like Yasmin's Getting Married get axed, but this time it is especially funny, as she won't be getting married at all. Suck it.

I accidentally came across part of the first episode while channel-surfing and was mesmerised by how mind-numbingly boring it was. It was like being at your nan's when you were a kid, and she and your aunt and uncle are talking about a cousin's wedding. Who the fuck thought THAT would make a good TV show?

It sounds just like Big Brother.

Anatomy for Beginners is always rather disturbing! The bit where he stuck the object down the guy's piss hole make me double over.

Is that the same Matthew Hardy who is a St Kilda fan and wrote Saturday Afternoon Fever? If so, he's a champ.
