Mixing Real Drums With Samples

yeah i recorded a band last week that triggered via the dm5 with a ddrum kick trigger and it was almost peaking out with the gain almost all the way down on my pre

right but what is your actual signal chain... like are you comp/eqing the real drums prior to blending with samples and doing blending all on the same track or keeping real drums on one track and sampled on another?

On the mix I'm doing now it has been the 1980 URS comressor, then the URS S mix EQ then apptrigga with slate samples, usually about 50% sample 100% actual tom. I have to tune the tom samples though (just use apptrigga).

I'm loving how it's coming out so far.
