MIXING TIME, SONG3: Complete Feared song inside

Alright, I relistened to the "remixed" versions I did yesterday and you can clearly hear that my ears were shot at that point of the night, they sound like so shit they don't count.

I remixed it and I used the Andy Sneap patch (thanks Jeff for the hint) on the Podfarm as a starting point and tweaked it so that it was more to my liking (mainly dropped gain and low, raised treble and presence, changed room to 0% and removed the spring reverb), sounded awesome on cans but it was a bit blurry on the monitors. I also noticed that the drums didn't cut thru enough so I put a bit of YOUWASHOCK to them, and eventually had to freeze them because the cpu meter started to hit 100% on the project. I also brought back the clang on the bass and raised the vox back a bit. I also noticed that the the clarity suffered for some reason, but I honestly have no idea what is causing it...

I kinda understand the change you did to the other clip but I'm also digging the first one more. The second one is just a bit to soft on the guitars... :kickass:

:headbang: Killer mix.. I haven't listened to most of these, but this is the only one I've really liked. I also had a go and couldn't get it sounding good, but this is great.

Ola, I think you'd benefit a LOT from a proper DI box (your guitars sound sick on the YouTube vids but the DI's are always very 2d and lifeless), and a better vocal mic (SM57 doesn't have enough detail imo, makes the vocals very hard to fit in).

The ultimate bass tone.

I don't want to annoy you guys, but can anyone please say someting about my mix? I just wanna know where i stand right now and which parts need improvements.

Thanks in advance!

I like the guitar tone a lot. The drums are a little dry for my taste and I'd give a tad more nose to the bass.

You seem to have tamed the "ssssss' s pretty well But I think they still a little too prominent.

shit, 2 posts in a row sorry.

Bass sounds nice. I'm not liking the drums. The delay in the vox is a bit overboard in places. You're also missing the backing tracks during the solo.

hello godamn,I mean the guitar DI tracks ,the guitars sound great, I've seen in a spectrum analyzer and your guitars I compared it with my guitar recordings
in the spectrum analyzer I see in your guitars some frequencies that are not mine
How is this done???????????
what is the trick to get it that sound?
that sound like me to get it for my guitar recordings

Hi, here comes my last update.

Kick: Slate black kick blended with a sample called tight dbi
Snare: Slate snare 13 blended with fat picc (Alesis?)
OH and toms are ezdrummer.

Guitars: SoloC 1.02 -> Lextac -> GH Final2 and any Soldano IR -> some eq for adding highs and remove those ugly 400hz. Nick Crow tubemaximizer and PSP Mixsaturator.

BTW tubemaximizer found it´s way on almost every single channel and i hit the ssl comp to 8db GR. Gclip is my friend:)
