I was lurking the forums yesterday in the evening for DI tracks to reamp and experiment with and just learnt that there was the LeCTO beta. Thought this could be a great testbed.

It's my second mixdown ever... Do you think there is anything salvageable?

Just redid it trying to recover the snare a bit and give more presence to the guitars.

And now I'm just wrongfully using the great material you people are posting here (THANKS!!) and messing around in totally new fields, lol

As for the previous mix... I've redone it a bit (again):

S2.0 Drums with Slate kick, and Paramore snare.
Vox just have some reverb and compression with a little eq'ing.

Drums: Slate Hybrid Kit with snare tuned -2 and a bit of distortion.

Guitar: Dual (Racktofier) W Oversized

Bass:
Low clean: Direct, Lopass
Mid Highs: Direct, Highpass with Steinberg's Over drive and Trash

Mics: Fredman Technique w/ Mexican SM57 off axis, Unidyne III SM57 On Axis.

I had fun with mixing this awesome song! I tried some new things with the guitars. also mastered with a demo of the new Steven Slate FG-X. seems pretty nice! not sure if I wanna plunk down the $300 on the suite though...

Good work Jay. Maybe you could put some noise gate on those guitars. there is at least one bringing the noise in the stop and start part on the left side. I kinda like the ultra dry vocals though. The snare is tasty!
