MIXING TIME, SONG3: Complete Feared song inside

-guitars sound very dirty in a bad way, and kinda muddy (but when played solo they have a cool dirty Mark/LOG tone)
-drums have a cool tone (cool cymbals and snare) but are mixed poorly. The kick is a bit annoying (you need to reassess where it stands compared to the bass, in the low frequencies). Snare needs to come up. Sounds like you put a compressor all over the drums (or even over a room track of the drums) and fucked it up somehow.

The tones are cool, the mixing needs a lot of work. If you mix this well, it might slay.

i feel like there is a hole in some frequencies, i guess low mids, where some of the guitar and/or bass should be

Sounds like the guitars lack clarity (too much gain ?) and presence.
Bass is overbearing.
Drums sound very dry and don't cut through much.

Other than that it's cool.

How much processing did you do to the drums ? Sounds a bit like you used the samples or presets out of the box.

@olly : you might wanna resize those pics man, they are huge

Back to the Slate thing, the Slate samples (especially on the earlier versions) are too processed and made for augmenting, so if you just drop them like this, they might sound too thin and direct. You might wanna look at the HP/LP settings, room stuff, etc.
