Moira's Lake..

That's 20 votes at 2 minutes to midnight, CST. ;)

But I'm on EST. ;)

9:59pm, I consider this a valid fulfillment for your stipulation on the interview. I expect it to be part of the listening party.

If the West Coast mattered, don't you think every single tour in the country would pass by there?:lol::lol:

Alright, maybe I'll do it. :)

BUT.. I... BUT...

Admittedly this marketing is funny and not the best way to go about things. But this guy/band should not back down and let all the forum jackals ripping this apart discourage them. F@#k the forum people.
Now if this is real well it is just merely a product of the progressive metal world. I bet if we could turn back time and Dream Theater had the idea and means to do this on "Dream and Day..." they would have- can't tell me that band aren't arrogant enough to have tried to pull it off. No one would have bought into it in the beginning of that band but they certainly would now. Yes I understand the fact that these guys are unknown and trying to pull off something as if they were known, but why not come out of the gate with a bang. More power to them. And if what they hoped for did not go off exactly as they planned will they are still getting attention.
I found what I saw to be funny but whatever. Seeing that the band is backing down and retreating because of the hecklers well I think that is what looks the worse. I understand internet jockeys and forum riders will not understand that but that is because they are usually just jackasses who can't do anything or are to afraid to try while hiding behind computers screens dogging out those who actually attempt to do something... for whatever that "something" is worth.

And the forum jockeys are the people who would hop on their nuts if it were a good idea/record/stunt/etc too. It works both ways...this is clearly not a good idea. Just because you do something differently doesn't mean you should be commended for it...

I was just talking to a friend about this and he asked, "didn't Rkapsody do the same thing to some extinct?"
I seem to remember they did, well that is why I bought the stuff, reallized late that yeah it wasn't all that great, but the packaging was cool. And I believe they pretty much came out of nowhere.

I hadn't seen the MS article. Oh man, that's awesome.

When and where for the listening party? I'm driving in Thursday morning, so I hope I don't miss the fun.

It will PROBABLY be sometime either Thursday late afternoon or Saturday, definitely at the Artmore. we'll figure something out. I want to conflict with as little as possible.

I will have everything on a USB stick, and SkiBum has graciously offered the use of his Laptop and speakers. I've purchased the thing today. The video I've watched so far is so fucking epic.

Listened to two songs on there, awful. And I'm not just being a dick, they have a lot of nerve to charge $50 for this poorly produced, generic crap. Alot of moments in here that completely rip off bands like Skyfire and Evergrey too.

I plan to make it into Atlanta by about 3ish on Thursday. I'll be going to the Kick-off as well, so hopefully it'll be easy enough. I can't wait, this should be quite the experience. Do you think it might put a sour taste on the rest of the fest if all of the other bands are so put to shame by Envinity?

I understand internet jockeys and forum riders will not understand that but that is because they are usually just jackasses who can't do anything or are to afraid to try while hiding behind computers screens dogging out those who actually attempt to do something... for whatever that "something" is worth.

.....yeah. what you describe is kinda like people who attend a fest/tour/show someone poured their heart into and have a smile on their face being there until they get home to the safety of their computer desk hours away and dog a promoter on his creation in a less than constructive manner. Generalized example showing its not just bands...promoters deal with it too.

I agree...we're a bunch of assholes plaguing the internet....only difference is I would be hard pressed not to tell this Guy what I think of this crap in person....I don't think it would be a problem to be honest about THIS. It's not the idea that i find ridiculous, it's the execution of such an idea that i think is the main issue here.
