Moira's Lake..

.....yeah. what you describe is kinda like people who attend a fest/tour/show someone poured their heart into and have a smile on their face being there until they get home to the safety of their computer desk hours away and dog a promoter on his creation in a less than constructive manner. Generalized example showing its not just bands...promoters deal with it too.

I agree...we're a bunch of assholes plaguing the internet....only difference is I would be hard pressed not to tell this Guy what I think of this crap in person....I don't think it would be a problem to be honest about THIS. It's not the idea that i find ridiculous, it's the execution of such an idea that i think is the main issue here.

Seriously you want to go there?
I actually communicate with your dad often and I well tell him or anyone what I think if I'm asked right then and there. It just so happen it was ASKED in that thread for people's thoughts and I gave mine and obviously some could not handle it.
So I suggest we don't go there. But if you really want to discuss it I will be in Atlanta in a few weeks so if you come up we can talk about it then and I want bring my computer desk. So how is that for you?
By the way good attempt there...

What the hell are you talking about. I said generalized statement...if you're feeling guilty about something it's none of my business man. It'd be a pleasure to see you again if you want to pay for the gas money. I actually said I agreed with you...simmer down there fella.

Edit:
You're a promoter person yourself with your label and what not...I'm sure you've experienced the same. I will be in Atlanta for ppusa so we can discuss the tonal clarification issues there and what i meant vs. How you took it.

Certainly sounded like that was what you were hinting at. And nice attempt at being clever but no I don't feel "guilty". But I know there was something to that statement.
No matter. let's drop it.

It will PROBABLY be sometime either Thursday late afternoon or Saturday, definitely at the Artmore. we'll figure something out. I want to conflict with as little as possible.

I will have everything on a USB stick, and SkiBum has graciously offered the use of his Laptop and speakers. I've purchased the thing today. The video I've watched so far is so fucking epic.

I finally get to reply here. Fucking power and internet was out all day yesterday and most of today. Had some HUGE thunderstorm came through yesterday afternoon and knocked power out in this entire area.

Anyway, I am still in and will have the laptop and speakers there. Just gotta let me know when we ought to do this. I am not coming in until Thursday afternoon.

Moira's Lake brings us all together.

I think it was actually the beer comment that brought it all together.

on a side note....its Friday and Envinity is the new Rebecca Black.

also - listened to Chapter 6: The One That Got Away

sounds like something I could jam to while dreaming.

I hate to say it but this stuff really isn't bad. I really like it quite a bit.

I have to actually agree with you. Yeah, 'AeonicSlumber' may not like it, but then again, half the shit he listens to, I cannot stand either (Really! Lady GaGa !?!?).

This issue I have is just how that dude attempted to market it. Yeah, nothing wrong for the guy to be proud of his album and what he did. But damn, a $50 "premium" addition? Does he offer it any other way? Yeah, Dream Theater may have that $106 deluxe box set for thier new album, but at least they also let you buy just the plain-jane album as well as even download MP3s from Amazon or iTunes. You probably could listen to it on Spotify as well. Also, Dream Theater is an established band with a real fan following. This Envinity outfit is basically unknown. I swear to God that Niko dude must think his music is God's gift to the world here the way he goes on and on about it! Maybe he getting a clue and just put a few songs up for people to sample and let the music sell itself. It is cool that he has a back story and all for it as well, and provide a link to that if people really want to read it.

I'll actually be curious to see the full package at this listening party, though. It may be pretty decent, but not worth friggan $50 or even the $27. I'll be more inclined to just download the FLAC off of Mindawn for $8 instead and look up the backstory on the band's website if I was interested in it. Sometimes, I just want to listen to the music itself and don't need somebody explaining it note-by-note to me while it is playing.

lol I'm not being serious, you can like what you want to like and not what you want to bro. But I think one of Gaga's worst songs > this band, for sure.

But hey, different strokes for different folks! :kickass:

Personally, I cannot stand Lady Gaga and I actually happen to kinda like this, so I would be inclined to think the other way (this band's worst song > Lady Gaga's best).

But you know, whatever floats your boat! :)

I like Lady Gaga, and I like Moira's Lake. So there. Hahahaha....

No seriously, this guy put a lot of time into the whole package, I think $27 is worth it if you like some extras and you actually dig the music. I'd feel bad for making so much of a joke out of this if it wasn't for his marketing.

I don't regret buying it. Even if it had only been for Progpower, but this is something I probably will actually listen to again.

Initial thoughts:

Solid music, but this guy is basically an Entropia/One Hour By the Concrete Lake ripoff.
Vocals are not the greatest. He could use a better singer other than himself.

Not bad though.

ok so i've given this a fair listen and I'm halfway through right now...currently still listening. Its kinda boring, but it's not bad.

I'm not in love or anything. I probably won't listen to it anymore past this first listen unless I want something to listen to when I'm going to bed at night.

I really don't see a PoS comparison other than the fact that both groups are proggy.
