Dont have the means to cut it up but... I know for my favourite riffs I'd prolly be getting out the old TJR (In Flames, for all those uninitiated).
I love the opening heavy riff in 'Moonshield'... I also love the chorus to Bodom's 'Kissing the Shadows'. I love the opening riff to Emperor's 'With Strength I Burn' and all of 'Towards the Pantheon'. I love a huge assortment of riffs from Opeth's 'Still Life'.. truly a masterpiece of riffing, that album. Many more, I'm sure... I just got the ones that come to mind.
yeah, bodom does have quite a few good riffs off of follow the reaper... and still life is quite brilliant... in flames does have better stuff than moonshield in my opinion though...
Yeah they have alot... opening riff to 'Dead God in Me' is so melodic death in every sense it almost takes your breath away, haha and of course Artifacts of the Black Rain is all round amazing. And not to mention Lord Hypnos... *carries on till morning*
TJR is an amazing and beautiful album. I used to be hardcore into IF, until I uncovered Opeth. I'm not a big fan of Clayman and R2R, as most IF fans aren't. Colony is probably my favorite though. I've seen em twice live, but I mean, the departure from melodic playing, I'm definetly not about that at all.
