Moonlapse where art thou?

When Ermz told me he was not going to mod this forum anymore I was firstly afraid. Afraid because this forum has basically been heading down for a while and the one leading the few people trying to stop that was Mr. Moonlapse.

Then I thought it was crap and thought he should come back but I don’t blame him for leaving. This forum has gotten larger but the ratio of bullshit to actual conversation has gotten just as big over time. At some points unbearable and I basically boycott this forum.

I think the problem with this forum is the lack contact with the band and co. Sure Mike posts now and then. I very rarely see Opeth.com on. I’ve never been lucky enough to see any other band members post yet. I’m sure they are busy and stuff and don’t blame them for not wanting to post or just not posting on this forum. I just think that little “hey guys hows it going?” and whatnot from the band would keep this forum from burning.

And I don’t think the mods get enough power here. There is clearly a lack of consequence for the knobs of this forum. And Samsara and Moonie never proved themselves unworthy, irresponsible or reckless. I never understood why after multiple occasions people were not just banned outright.

But its good to see it all hasn’t totally fucked up yet. A few people try and keep this forum good. How’s it going “pathetical”? :P I shaved my head since I last saw you at the gig in melb.

By the way Mr. Samsara did you name yourself after a Tea Party song?

PS Mike should rip into more people, always good for a laugh.

First. I have plenty of power here. Ermin and I had stubbornly clung to the hope that the members here, once shown the error of their ways, would improve their behavior and contribute positive and meaningful discussion. The creation of the sub-forum was an outlet to let this theory expand beyond the confines of "All Opeth All the Time". The guidelines have been set, explanations have been given and there are no more excuses... we're not really putting up with any monkey business here anymore. Why not try to hang in here again and contribute something?

Opeth.com is Anna, the wife of the Ålmighty. She definately has her hands full with a little girl and other important "Real Life" duties. I'm glad she has the confidence in my ability to keep this place from completely going to shit, so she spends more time taking care of those things than checking up on us here all the time.

My Screen name: The short version? My favorite movie is Baraka. Released in November of 1993, it is a deeply moving and profound film for me. It's sequel (I'm hoping it will finally be released this year) has been in production for many years and is titled, "Samsara": a Tibetan word that means "Wheel of Life",...."a concept both intimate and vast, obvious and oblique" as the director puts it. See my sig for a slightly more concise interpretation of the words meaning. Why I specifically chose it? That's very long post for another time.

Cheers! :)

hey man, haha are you replying that i am one of the people that try and keep this forum good? i'm sure 99% of users would think otherwise as most things i say here get destroyed. and shaved ur head ! :o shocking! i keep contemplating doing mine but can't bring myself to it, headbanging just wouldn't feel the same. :(
