First off Id just like to thank you for taking the time to answer this interview, I really appreciate it! How is life going? Is everything okay?
It's my pleasure, I don't mind interview when i have time. This are good, working on music and getting ready to tour South America!!!
You've expressed the next album as extreme and outside the box. Some people saying about your new song that they haven't heard any new sound. What's your opinion?
I don't go with what other people think, that's such a mess to try and follow don't ya think? I know what it takes to place meaning to things
I write music for myself and place my own meaning to things. Works good this way, more direct.
Morbid Angel will embark on a South American tour in March 2009. Will there be any surprises?
What is a valid surprise?
Your new upcoming album, which will mark Morbid Angel's first release to feature vocalist/bassist David Vincent since 1995's "Domination". According to you what kind of progresses will be shown?
Progresses that some will see this way and some will see that way. Just like always.
Is there any current news about who's going to be producing the album and which label it will be?
No.
Your upcoming album does not currently have a name. Will title likely begin with the letter "I"? Is it a speculation?
Yes.
You're listening to a lot of hardcore, techno musics nowadays and you said that to these styles are impact and extreme. Can you allow to these styles for Morbid Angel's next musics?
I am drawing energy and flow from this stuff I listen to. Over all the years I listen to various things and get moved in some way by what comes out of the speakers and the come from that place with stuff. Just like in the past, I listen to all sorts of things which inspired various songs on the records. I don't plan on adding a DJ to the band though.
Which bands/artist have grabbed your attention as being particularly good as death metal or different styles?
I love Portishead, Noize Suppressor, Catscan, Tumor. Listen also to lots of Jungle Drum and Bass as well.
You played played its first show with new touring guitarist, Zyklon's longtime member Destructhor, on June 22 at the Hellfest in Clisson, France.
David Vincent is looking happy with Destructhor. Is Thor best guitarist for the band for you?
Thor is awesome, really strong picking technique, and flowing personality.
Your current lineup is rounded out by drummer Pete Sandoval. Isn't it?
Pete is in the band, duh.
Terrorizer's status is on hold. Are they play one day? What does Pete saying to this topic?
Might you ask him about that?
Huge fans of death metal are looking you as the best. Everybody knows that you're only racing with yourself. Well, have you ever think that Morbid Angel's the best death metal band?
Best compared to what??? ha! I just doing my thing and if people like it that's cool with me.Those who don't then they would perhaps have me play music i am bored with just to gain their approval. How is such a process even metal or underground even?
You have left their longtime label Earache because the sales for "Heretic" were poor compared to their other releases (highest number: "Covenant" - over 500,000, lowest number: "Heretic" - lower than 20,000). What's your opinions to commercial viewpoints? You're the first death metal band to get signed to a major record label... Are you seeing a cruelty here?
I don't do this for money, nor for the approval of others. I would be fine playing in a garage band as long as i made music I liked.
You've one live album that have released in 1996, it's called "Entangled In Chaos". I've learned your music with this album and according to a lot of people that it's great record. You're a hard concert band, why only one live album has made since 1984?
Dunno, I would have liked to make one with the 2004 set wich in my opinion was the best set.
Do you heed to release your first DVD? When will we reach it?
Dunno.
What can you say about Tampa, Florida's current metal scene? Is it more good or more bad? Why?
It's good here with metal. The problem is that there arent so many good clubs for metal at the moment.
Why haven't you ever played in Turkey? What do you know about us? Did you listen our bands?
I don't know.
Thanks for the answers and last words are yours.
Thanx for the interview and to all the readers and fans out there. hope to see ya all on tour, woop!
