yeah:erk:
I just couldnt get the lowend to sound right no matter what i did. It made the metal guitar parts sound muddy, but the breakdown and chug parts sound amazingly heavy. If i record any bands like FTFD or Acacia Strain, i'll definitely try them out again.

And is editing really a skill? I thought it was more of a chore haha:lol:

fucking sick

i think i prefer the other sound with impulses though? this seems to lack a lot of high end clarity, i think?

the slate kit sounds amazing, i really wish i could buy it!

thanks,

hey brian huge fan of your mixes this is great yet again.

how was guitar recorded pod or amps?

cheers

Thanks bud!
This was pod xt. I think i've posted the patch on here somewhere before

Yeah i've noticed the guitars are a bit dark. those impulses definately helped with that, but there was something about the lows and low mids that sounded really muddy with those impulses on this band.

Damm...Sounds great!

Really "pro" sounding,me like.

That's my goal:D

I need slate samples!!:P what is drums processing mate?

I'm not in the studio right now, but off the top of my head, there is nothing besides a high pass on the snare.

the kick has lot of 4-6k boost, a high pass, and a cut around 200hz i believe. it may also be pitch shifted down -8%

the toms have like a 6db high shelf a somewhere around 6k and up(or something ridiculous like that), a compressor to even out the tom rolls, and a noise gate that cuts the toms off pretty quickly.

Overheads are high passed at like 800hz, and there is a limiter last in the chain instead of compression.

you know... i'm asking, because want to know how much that sound of your drums is from samples them selfs, and how much from you, your tweaking and post processing ;P I hope you understand what I mean:D

You don't happen to remember where you posted that patch do you?
haha
I''m just curious as to what head and cab you used
and if you used a pod cab then what you did post processing
I usually cut 800hz and 4khz 3-6db each but that doesn't quite get me to the professional sounding tones you and joey seem to have
thanks dude

+1

Sounding really good man! I think the guitars are a bit dark too though, but the rest is perfect IMO. Drums sound really good. Do you remember which samples you took? And are toms slate or original?

Thanks!
