More Mills Cab Clips Inside (Thrash Metal)

Sounds great man!!
But there is something, probably the G12K100, that makes the sound a little edgy in the Medium-Hi zone.... Not sure anyway, but overall the sound is killer!

It is a very good tone, although there high mids are a bit too aggressive and present for my tastes, but only a tiny bit.

WAY too middy IMO, honking like crazy, which makes it feel kinda small as the other bands (lows and highs) are so much less prominent in comparison - I gotta say dude, you've always had what I would describe as...odd tones, they've never felt quite natural to me; I've seen you occasionally suggest eq'ing the DI's, is that what you're doing to get these sounds?

Yeah I definantly hear the honkcity too, but mannnnnn do I love those riffs:hotjump:.

I hate to say that I hear the honk bc I know it will all go back to that mills cab, but I definantly do. Either or its better than anything I could do.

yeah... not terrible sounding, but pretty honky/cloudy. I still haven't gotten to try the mills cab yet. I hope it's not super middy like that. sounds like it could be fixed with different amp settings/maybe slight adjustment of mic placement though.

might just have somethign to do with that e906 too though.

i swear that honk is from micing more towards the edge of the speaker than the center. sounds le cruuuunchy though mang. nice riffage too

Similar Mid-focus as a Mesa Trad (or Stiletto) Cab. Not too familiar with the 12K100 though so it might be that, or the 906.

Can you try a V30 with a 57? Since that combo is probably more familiar to what alot here use, it might give a better representation of the cab.

I'm trying different things, folks.

The cab, is kind of middy, but it's not 400hz middy. It's apparently 700hz middy to you folks out there if we're talking about honk. I've heard recordings of this cabinet done with an e906 in this same positioning and it didn't sound this middy though. I haven't learned this cab yet.

New clip is posted above.

I only low and hi passed the DI.

I only low and hi passed the DI.

Is this of much benefit?
I read something a while ago that explained how amps or cabs (I'm pretty sure it was cabs) only operate between a certain frequency range (kind of like how a mic may roll off above 14khz and below 60kz or something like that) and that resonances just fill in the blanks.
So like, even when you've high passed and low passed the DI's, once you run them through the amp, you're still getting resonances that are filling in the gaps so to speak.

Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass. :D

This is absolutely true, but I want resonance, not an overabundancy of a frequency I wont be using. I lp/hp before AND after the reamp.
