most beautiful song and deepest lyrics ever

Can listen to, as I am at work, and while the entire topic can be subjective, I'd like to add a couple of 'honourable mentions' (though I can't speak for the lyrical side of things)

Anathema - Temporary Peace
The Gathering - You Learn About It
Antimatter - (I'd ahve to sit down and listen to the album again to pick a song, but prolly 'Angelic', 'Over Your Shoulder', or 'The Last Laugh'.

Will have a listen to song when I get home. :)

but... but Spikey! no! you have to listen to MY song!!!

(and yes those are great ones but ... but... listen to my song  )

yes, anathema is beautiful :p

Spike, it's worth it, trust me. :p

Anathema rules. The best part of Temporary Peace is near the end when there's that weirdass scream goin' on. Hehe, try blasting that at 3 in the morning.

I think the most beautiful song is My Dying Bride's The Dreadful Hours.

when the final bell is rung
and the games declared over
we speak the words goodbye
and i know its forever
an empty pit inside my chest
was more than a small clue
no you'll never see me again
something i gotta get used to
but you left much behind
some peace and vital signs
food for a busy mind
and souvenirs to hold tight

just a passenger on your airliner
crashing to the ground
but the impact doesnt make a sound

well a lesson to be learned
from your departure
funny thing when you went away
you took part of my cure
and now im searching hard
underneath every card
hopeing with best regards
you'll break me out of this dreamstate

oh but what i feel
unfortunately is real
feeling the sting of pain
not a dam thing can erase the stain

im leaveing here
and you'll know why when im gone
im leaveing here
translate your knowledge through this song
i wont forget
why our words were meant to mesh
and im glad we shared a glass
i gave something to your soul
and you gave me more than you will ever know

are my senses clear
do i feel it here
sometimes the past is insincere
