Any compressors, mic preamps, mics, reverbs, delays, guitar amps, interfaces or anything you use for recording. Not looking for things like the 1176 or Api 3124 cause we all know these kick ass.

Couple things that i love and are pretty cheap as well.

Jet City 20 watt version.

Finalizer Express

Bla Auteur preamp

RadioShack Pzm mic

Randall's RT series: I tried it in a shop, and it was extremely versatile, it has three channels, one clean, one "classic" overdrive, and one "modern" overdrive. The Modern Overdrive sounding a little more aggressive and tighter.

FMR RNP preamp: I was a little skeptical about this, because it costs like $500. But it sounds very warm, it's GREAT for vocals, acoustic guitars, and pianos. It also sounds pretty good for guitars. And it's surprisingly quiet for a relatively cheap preamp.

dbx 120 Subharmonic (everyone that uses Waves Renn Bass should have one of thiese! it kills on kick and bass)

Looks like a cool piece of gear, but is this something you reach for all the time? I mean, when I track the bass it's always with new strings, and I capture a DI, so I don't have trouble with a lack of low end to work with from the original source. I just can't imagine using a subharmonic process unless it's something poorly recorded, but I could be wrong...

BBE Bmax bass pre (mine is the solid state).

I like it WAY more than the sansamp (done side by side tests). Sometimes even the sonic max can be cool as well, but it's setup to be true bypass so you don't have to run it. But the para mids is what really makes the unit out shine the bass driver DI. The comp is shit though, I run a 3630 in front of it and like that a fuck load better so the onboard comp gets left off as well all the time.

MOST of the time on kick and not all the time on bass, but it does something cool to the low end even on well recorded bass. I wish i had more units here at the studio. Definitely worth the try man. There's a lot of versions too, the one we have is dbx 120 x-ds (the gold one)

Digitech MSP4 rack delay. It's a fantastic sounding delay from the 90s, basically a poor man's Lexicon. Made in USA with really nice analog relay stages, if you clip the inputs you can even get a tasty, warm solid state distortion out of it. Not much info about them online, I picked mine up for $20 at the local swap meet, having no idea how good it was going to sound.

Thomann branded ("T.Bone") condenser mics, whether LDS or SDC... Unbelievably good, not only for the price but overall!!! I know it sounds too good to be true, but I bought SC1100 and SCT800 after listening to demos on Thomann site (they have demos for most of the mics)... Now, among all other decent mics that I have, SD800 has the best tone and frequency response, and it gives unbelievably accurate reproduction. (though I had to switch the tube because the stock one was pretty bad)...

Behringer MIC200 Tube Modeler preamp.

Nah, in my experience it is really a piece of shit with a glowing tube inside. And who's the genius who thought that putting presets on mic preamp was a cool idea anyway?

I'm gonna say the AKG D112.

Dude, no seriously. I've tried a lot of them, they're ok if you are into abrasive distorded top end. Some of them suck less than other but none of them perform as good as the worst Neumann.

Now, their ribbon mics, that's another story.
