Christian metal is unknown for obvious reasons. I haven't even listened to one.

And I am glad someone in here has heard of Novembre. I will never ever understand why that band never became big.

This one local prog metal outfit called Divinitas is about as obscure as I get.

This is pretty obviously a troll thread, but yeah, as demonstrated by people like Morpha, some people seem to be more interested in impressing people with their knowledge than enjoying the music.

slayer is probably the most well known band (besides metallica) listened to by anyone on this forum.

so you must listen to a LOT of mainstream bands.

He was kidding. Anyways, I think that Megadeth and Iron Maiden are more well known than Slayer. So is Pantera, but they aren't exactly popular on this board.

Such as? Alot of it is worthless (well... so is most metal) but there are a very few great bands out there. Not listening to christian metal simply because it's christian is just as stupid as a christian not listening to non-christian metal because it's non-christian.

Please, judge on talent, not ideology.

The only Christian metal bands I tolerate are Stryper, Whitecross, and Zao. Too many of them strike me as generic and pretentious.
