Nothing on Earth will prepare you for the wrath of cheesy CG effects and...Deborah Gibson's acting.

And now, for the movie of the month:

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
As a long-time collector of Transformers toys, I must say that this is a bit disappointing compared to the first film. Sure, there's more action, more explosions and more Megan Fox, but the storyline is lacking a lot - especially as the film runs nearly three hours long. Plus, the Transformers themselves have less screen time than they should. Still, it's worthwhile for movie night.

And now for some quick movie reviews:

Public Enemies
Johnny Depp steals the whole show as the infamous bank robber John Dillinger. The film really captures the essence of Depression-era Chicago with all the vintage cars and stylish clothing (most of which are colored black). Plus, the film has an intense shootout just like Heat (which was also directed by Michael Mann). Christian Bale, however, could've done better, as he has very little screen time on this film. Otherwise, this film is worth the ticket. :kickass::kickass::kickass::kickass:

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
What worked for Transformers does not work for G.I. Joe. This movie is a complete train wreck. The storyline is full of loopholes you can jump your car over, the characters are completely uninteresting (Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols are hot, though), and the CG effects look cheap. Just skip this movie and go watch something else. :puke::puke::puke:

Sad news: Patrick Swayze has died at age 57 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He will always be remembered for his performances in the films The Outsiders, Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

R.I.P. Patrick Swayze.

Time for another quick movie review:

Sex Drive
Proof that the teen sexploitation bandwagon has run its course. This film tries too hard to be American Pie, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Superbad, Dude, Where's My Car? and Road Trip, but falls short due to its forced gags and toilet humor. Even Seth Green as an Amish does nothing to save the film's lameness. The only good thing about this film is the 1969 Pontiac GTO (along with the AC/DC music that accompanies it). With that in mind, go watch something else.

What are the most well made, mind blowing, incredible movies ever made? These don't have to be your favorite. Just incredible pieces of art.
Best directing, acting and script.

Time for another quick movie review:

Fanboys
Yup, it's another road trip movie; except you can't help but think that this is Detroit Rock City rewritten for Star Wars fans. The movie takes place in 1998, when a group of Star Wars geeks decide to drive all the way from Ohio to George Lucas' home in Northern California in an attempt to obtain Episode I: The Phantom Menace six months before it hits theaters. And on their way, they go piss off some Star Trek fans in the process.

The film has its moments, but for the most part, the comedy is forced and repetitive - especially at scenes that directly parody Star Wars films. You also have numerous cameo appearances by people who have been in at least one Star Wars film - namely Carrie Fisher (who was Princess Leia), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Ray Park (Darth Maul). Oddly enough, Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hammill, is nowhere to be found.

Also making cameo appearances are Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith. Unfortunately, they're not Jay & Silent Bob on this one. And then there's William Shatner, who just happens to be in the movie.

If you're not a Star Wars fan, skip Fanboys. Otherwise, it sure beats Hayden Christensen's horrible acting that nearly destroyed Episodes II and III.

Oh yeah, and if you're a Rush fan, rent the film.

I'm a Star Wars guy so I will see this. I don't agree Hayden Christianson was a bad actor. I thought he portrayed a perfect Anakin. It made perfect sense his character would become Darth Vader.
