Well as I just said in another thread about this...

I find them mediocre. Then again, I said the same about Countess before I really started giving Heilig Vuur a thorough listen.

I suppose I'll check this album out when it's done.

They've proven themselves enough for me to presume the song needs context. Regardless, I quite liked it from the listen I gave it.

Deathcult took me something like 25 listens for it to properly hit me, and I thought it was pretty good for a while before that, rather than exceptional. After that I was hooked, and the rest, although not quite living up to Deathcult, are also all worth getting.

Well, if you're looking for distinctive production, yeah, but I usually look within the music for individuality and character rather than the production. Very rarely will production decide classic status or appeal of an album for me.

It did not hit me like their past releases have, unfortunately. We'll see though when the album is out.

I think The Chasm's thin production fits with their black metalish sound. Anyways, that track was pretty good, and I am thinking the CD might wind up being as good as Conjuration of the Spectral Empire, though Deathcult For Eternity will be hard to match.

Yeah, same here. The first time I heard Deathcult, I wasn't blown away by any means, and I didn't like the production. Then after several more listens I began to realize the great melodies and the genius of the compositions. It is a phenomenal CD.
