Well both riffs are just one note, but they played to rhythms that are quite different. Loads of riffs are like that, these similarities aren't significant.

Tbf it can't be THAT similar if a massive fan of both Evile and Demolition hammer such as yourself hasn't noticed it after countless listens. The riffs might be kinda similar, but the rest of the music isn't so.
