Sup guys I was just on another forum (I'm a traitor I know) and there was a thread about movies that had made people cry. I find that I'm more affected by music and thought this might be an intersting thread. Hence the subject... Music that gets you all choked up. I'll start.

Nevermore - basically the entire Dreaming Neon Black album (when you know what it's about)
Nevermore - The sorrowed man
Testament - Return to Serenity
Metallica - To Live is to Die (the interlude part *sob*)
Sonata Arctica - Fade to Black (Metallica cover)
Porcupine Tree - Stop Swimming
Joe Satriani - Until we say goodbye and clouds race across the sky
Glassjaw - Everything you ever wanted to know about silence (get fucked I like)
Pantera - Floods (the bit at the end with the solo and the rain and thunder and stuff)
Dark Tranquility - Day to end

God damn I thought I'd be able to think of more than that. They just aren't comin to me. Help me out people.

these always do it for me, haha:
queensryche- silent lucidity
metallica- one
alice in chains- down in hole
opeth- bleak
earth crisis- names carved into granite(solo)
second coming- the song

its wierd, when i baught damnation, i was expecting to be disappointed, cuz i love Opeth's heavier stuff, but i absolutely love it, definitely the softest album i actively listen to... yeah it is trance inducing, i especially love "In my time of Need"

Puppets is the closest to PERFECT any metal album has ever come.

My list:
Iced Earth - A Question of Heaven
Queensrÿche - Anybody Listening & I Don't Believe In Love
Nevermore - Dreaming Neon Black & Forever
Symphony X - Candelight Fantasia
Metallica - Fade to Black
Overkill - What I'm Missing (not so much the song as what I associate with it)
Anything off Radiohead's OK Computer, for the same reasons as What I'm Missing

Opeth - Hope Leaves, To Bid You Farewell, Dirge for November
A Perfect Circle - Orestes
Alice in Chains - Rain When I Die
Anathema - A Dying Wish, One Last Goodbye
Down - Stone The Crow
Katatonia - I Am Nothing
Megadeth - A Tout Le Monde (namely the live version)
My Dying Bride - Raven And The Rose
Nevermore - Insignificant
The Smashing Pumpkins - Soma

I have to agree with Damnation. I love that album, and I knew that I would way before I bought it. It was my most anticipated album of the year, but now Enemies of Reality is.

Katatonia - Quiet World
My Dying Bride - The Dreadful Hours
Nevermore - Forever
Anathema - One Last Goodbye

Depends on a person's mood.

there's also a number of porcupine tree songs, but i can't remember names off the top of my head, and don't feel like going over to the cd rack, ha..

so yeah between them and the songs on damnation, this upcoming tour should be pretty intense.

Some of the most depressing stuff Ive heard is a bit varied;

The Cure--Pictures of you
Katatonia--Anything by them
My Dying Bride--The Cry of Mankind, For my fallen Angel, and The Light at the End of the World (Song)
Mortiis--Everyone Leaves
Stabbing Westward--Everything prior to their Self-Titled crap
Nine Inch Nails--Something I can never have

Its just a few, but those are probably the ones that do the most. Though there are many MANY more :)
