My computer will automatically shut off sometimes, I need help to solve the problem!? 2 Nights in a row my computer has automatically shut off on me and I have to wait 20-30 minutes for the computer to even turn back on, the computer gets hot when it does this an so does the battery but it only started doing it very recently so what could be the problem? Is my computer in danger of sutomatically shutting of for the last time and crashing? I deleted a bunch of shit from my computer today to try and solve the problem as too much programs could cause my computer to do this. So why would my computer do this?

I take it it's a laptop because there is a battery. Prop the computer up on a book or something so some of the air can escape from the bottom of the computer.

Lay off the Windows jabs. It's not that bad.

Are you giving the laptop proper ventilation? Not doing so is a good reason for it to be shutting off.

By shut down do you mean it actually completes the full Windows shut down process, or does the laptop just instantly die? Is the laptop plugged in? If it isn't and the battery is old, it won't hold a charge very long. In this case Windows will automatically shut the computer down when it reaches 5 or 10% power (although this is a setting that can be changed).

Srsly, Windows doesn't deserve all the shit it gets. It rarely crashes for me, and the security issues probably arise mainly from the fact that its popularity attracts hackers like a lightning rod. It's not like it's an utter piece of shit OS.
