these are my first ever 'proper' recordings.

Two things I notice the most: The intro is overlimited to the extremes. Sounds bad as it is. You pushed too much sub into the limiter. When it pumps like this it's not cool. Second is the song. While the mix is ok-ish the playing is so untight that it's not groovy at all. So editing the junk out of it would bring this song up front the most. And for such teenie rock the backing voxes could stand some autotuning more than being that much pitched off.

well yeah this needs serious editing.
soundwise its ok, impressive bass sound. what i dont like is the programmed drumsound, too sterile for my taste.
but to improve your stuff - start editing the shit out of it ! ;-) mixe wise its cool for a beginner!

and thanks this was a quick job. for a mate's band tracked in 3 days of extreme laziness, involving lots of song changes.. if it were my band, it would sound a lot better, and as soon as i have more i/o ill start recording real drums exclusively(apart from ideas) and when i get a sm57, my tone will hopefully improve.. it's all uphill from here.

guitars could use some extra editing (timingwise)

and if your going for a more radio rock sound, also pocket the bass to the kick drum.
