my FTR tone test

its pretty good but not 100% accurate but there is nothing wrong with that.
You are about as close as it gets without turning into alexi :p
what equipment are you using?

thanks for the kind words :)

i'm using a 88 GP-1000, running through line6 toneport using a simulated celestion cab, boosted with a boss SD-1.

the guitar is an epiphone goth explorer...not my first choice...but i'm selling my prestige at the moment, so its all i got.

I wouldn't say it sounded much like FTR, to be honest. The verse riff was very over distorted and the whole thing was a bit too bassy. You should take the gain down, take the bass down, increase mids and treble a bit and pan the rhythms 100%.

The tone sounds similar!

But yeah I think Mitch is right, adjust the setup to look something like this:

Gain 7
Bass 3
Treble 8
Middle 8
Reverb 0

I'm just a beginner guitarist, so if I'm wrong feel free to annihilate me.

@ Joonas - I think that setting would seriously fuck it up :p.

I really like the tone - it's not completely FTR - it's got more thickness - but it's still defined. I like it better than FTR - but that's because I always though FTR had too much high end.
You might wanna add some middle though. Sometimes it sounds too bassy.

Doesn't sound much like FTR to me, sorry man :p

Sounds pretty muted, like you've got too much bass and not enough treble.
