I see what you mean there, but I still think 'Freewheel Burnin' is awesome, and 'LOVE Machine' is pretty good too. The vocals are a bit stiff on Happenstance, his vocal performance on the debut is MUCH better....more consistent and smoother for sure. From the debut, Motley Crue's 'Live Wire', Twisted Sister's 'Stay Hungry', and Motorhead's 'Eat the Rich' are all awesome, and better than the originals, with Dio's 'Stand Up And Shout', Ozzy's 'Over The Mountain' and Priest's 'Riding On The Wind'Originally posted by The Trooper
I haven't heard the debut. I think Happenstance is a bit dodgy though.... the production really sucks (waaaaaaaay too stiff), and his voice only works on some songs. Big City Nights, Balls To The Wall and a couple of others sound really good with that production and his vocals are good....
But "LOVE Machine" ... oh my god, words can't describe how much they BUTCHERED that song. And a few others like Freewheel Burnin' etc just sound too stiff.
The originals are better than the covers (with the exception of Big City Nights and Balls To The Wall).
being great covers which stand up to the originals well. The cover of Maiden's 'The Prisoner' is pretty good too, and their originals are great, and that is pretty much the whole album.
