My Opeth audio bootleg collection (pretty decent in size), now on eBay...

Retailers and stores selling CDs and music DVDs are making money off of music they didn't write. The money that I'm making off of this wouldn't have been going to the artists because they wouldn't sell these bootlegs.

Your logic is amazing!!! Truly, guy, what an amazing sense of logic you have!

BOOTLEGS R 4 TRADING, NOT SELLING!!!

Retailers and stores, by carrying official merchandise, make a percentage of the sale, a percentage goes to the record label, a percentage to the PR guys, a percentage to management, and a tiny percentage to the band.

You selling unofficial stuff, make the whole 100%.

but you knew that already, didn't you? :yuk:

Technically, everything sold on ebay is bad if you believe that you shouldn't make money from someone else's writing. Whether it's an official product or not doesn't matter- people are still exploiting bands and making a buck from them.

So, what's the answer? Ban the internet? In this humble poster's opinion the answer is, sadly, yes.
