Didn't you always hate it when you would be doing your homework with your stereo way up or your headphones up so loud that people could hear them across the room, and your mom would walk in and be like "How can you concentrate with all that racket?" Oh yes, that was me too My parents were actually very good about not bothering me too much when I was listening to music! But without question, there were a couple of times when my father came into my room and was like "What the hell is that shit?, are they actually singing?"

Gotta love it!

Yeah, I'd get "You don't call that singing do you?" "I know Mom, it's not Elvis so it's crap."

I didn't get along with my mother during my high school years. She had this idea in her head of what I should have been like, and apparently I didn't meet up to her standards or something. Now she acts like Mom of the Century. I usually just ignore her. I think the worst thing was when I'd be in my room reading a book, and she'd come in and lecture me about how it's such a nice day out, why don't I go out or call a friend and go to the mall, etc. And I'd be like, "I'm not drunk. I'm not stoned. I'm in my room reading a three inch novel. You know where I am. I'm not bothering you. I'm not being loud, I'm not hogging the phone, I'm not hogging the TV. I'm not out spending all your money. Some parents pray for kids like me, and you have to complain about it." This happened every weekend (I usually took Sundays off to recover) and even sometimes during the week (my friends went to another school so I laid low on school days). I read so many freakin' books in those three years, but I still take shit for what my hair was like back then. I hope my kids kick my ass if I ever pull that shit on them.
