My Top 10 Most Memorable PP USA Moments

Now that I got that out of my system and that I've seen the whole video, really cool! I'd like to actually see more of these if you have the time of course!

DOOGGGIEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

MetalSam is cute.

Thank you, both! Ever since he was a puppy, he has liked to hang out with Glenn in his office and on the desk.

Cool vid! Awesome office! :)

Trust me, it used lack awesomeness (besides Doug's wooden logos).. the office was at the top of our to-do list! :)

Great story about Floor Jansen/Ralf Scheepers "Who Wants to Live Forever" For me that was the highlight of the All Star Jam. I REALLY, REALLY wish you would post the video for that someday.

This. I get goosebumps thinking back on it.

And, of course, when thinking back about Nightwish and Marc Brueland. :worship:

The video alone is awesome, but somehow Metal Sam 'makes' it more whole. :)

Cool stuff..:-)

I remember being backstage in Conception's room with Kristian (guitars/Manticora). Kristian is a very big Conception fan himself, but he absolutely hates Kamelot. Being ridiculously drunk, from having carte blanche in the backstage bar, he told a sober Roy Khan how much he disliked Kamelot - without knowing that Roy was actually the singer. Was a bit embarassing, hehehehe. Luckily, Roy seemed to take it all with a grin..:-)

This is another great example of how a great festival promoter does things. I don't know any other promoter who gives you a glimpse into the workings of a show like this. I enjoyed hearing these stories, whether I was present for them or not or even whether or not I knew of the story. Thanks to Glenn, Jen, and, of course, Sam!

Stay metal. Never rust.

There are a few more I know of that can't get out there for public consumption, BUT:
To follow up.. that Flying Scheisse tech... the year I flew in from doing the Caffery/Oliva/Owens tour, and we had done a show with Therion the first night at HoB in Cleveland.. I was looking at their tech and he looked familiar..
It hit me, at Progpower - it was the SAME tech. So.. I asked him if he had been to PP before.. he said yes, and mentioned a partcular band - I said "Man - I KNEW it was you,. Are you the guy who almost got yourself electrocuted?!" he said "yes".. now picture in a thick accent:
"It was very strange. I remember they were doing a snare drum check, and as i was looking down, floating above my body, all I could think was 'no drums at my funeral' " and he LAUGHED!

To top it off, we exchanged cards, and i got a call as i was boarding my plane to go home Sun after PP that he had lost 2 of their wireless mics. NOT a good thing when they were on tour. Poor guy - rough trips for him!
