Nachtmystium - Assassins

It's remarkable how a band so grounded in raw Black Metal could have evolved into this.

Seems like Nachtmystium is turning into another Opeth. Opeth unites death metal fans with prog fans, and Nachtmystium's now uniting Black Metal fans with Pink Floyd fans.

Eh, more or less. I view One Of These Nights and Away From the Light as more a Floyd joke and an intro, respectively, than "songs." And yeah, I love Floyd, so this album rules for me.

Not really, there's been much weirder.

There's something that sounds really ham handed about all this, I mean, the songs are good, but I don't feel that this is such a ground breaking release. I'd rather listen to Furze, Xasthur or DSO.

well i gave it another listen and i kinda don't like it. it's insanely uninteresting and really bad rock moments that don't work for me. it's definately not a grower.

I've actually listened to a few times since then. It's ok, but it doesn't really grab me like I was hoping. Solid album though

Picked up Instinct: Decay and Eulogy IV last night man those guys put on a killer live show and they played mostly their older material cause they didnt have any synth great band great times i cant wait to see Shitstorm, Insect Warfare, The Dream Is Dead and Pig Destroyer for day 2 of Dudefest 08.

Whoops. Kind of forgot that they played tonight. There's another one in late summer/early fall, iirc.

The show was pretty good. Nothing too special, the crowd was horrible. A couple scene kids came and started hardcore dancing. That was funny. The after party was cool at Kuma's Corner. Bruce Lamont from Yakuza came over to us with a friend of his and said it was cool seeing us at the show and with us being so young(we are in high school) and he was glad we had come out. It was fun night.

I know the only song they played from the new cd the other night was Assasins the rest of their live set was their older material.
