they only have 2...

epitaph

onset of putrification

it doesnt really matter which one you get...all their shit is great, if you want technical death metal (and catchy too)...this is your band.

Yeah...that guitarist looks awesome...the sound on the clip was shit, but I could tell he has serious chops.

I was listening to samples on their website last night...Holy Shit!!!...this guy is fucking awesome! The vocals are comical...I couldn't possibly isten to an album of that...if I could take out the vocals, the music is phenomenal!!!

Schenk - you're a good guy - you need to "ween" yourself onto the harder vocals - if you're a thrash head ( and I know you are) - I'd suggest Carcass' "Swansong", and then move backwards through their back catalogue...

Oh, and "epitaph" is a fucking awesome album.

I know what you're saying...I have some heavier vocals in my collection now that I enjoy...Carsass-Heartwork, Arch Enemy-pre-chick, In Flames, Nightrage, Death....Narcophagist is over the top, but it may be worth it...that dude can shred!!!...I can't imagine "singing" and playing those intricate parts.

You're right though...I'm actually pre-thrash...I'm a old headbanger...my ultimate metal vocalists are Dio and Halford...so it's a big stretch. I like some thrash...Megadeth, Slayer, but I don't like most others, Anthrax, Testament...mediocre crap...IMO only, of course.

I'm kinda similar, but I quite like the more extreme vocals now. I'm relatively old at 30 yrs of age, but I now appreciate the growling and shrieking as another facet to the sound - but there is a world of difference (believe it or not) between a good growler and a bad growler!

Necrophagist are worth the effort, but the best at the moment in the field of death metal are Nile, by a country mile, i.m.o.

I'm 39...got you beat. I'm starting to warm up to it. I don't know if I could tell the difference between a good and bad growler, but I know what I like...I know music and I know what adds or takes away from a song. I'm broadening my horizons 15 years late...17 years of marriage and 4 kids can take you from music for a while...I lost so much listening and playing time, but I'm full swing again...well, as much as life allows me.
