The benefit of having a floyd for me is overshadowed by the inconvenience. Even Mattias IA Eklundh made a comment about the hassles of locking trems, I guess he is noob too?

umm no, but it can help a lot in playing to know as much as possible about the way your instrument works. And once you fully understand how a floyd works it is not a big deal to keep maintained.
