Negura Bunget

Back in 2006, "Hubster" suggested that I pick up "OM." I already had "N Cruga Bradlui", so no hesitation, man. Incredibel, atmospheric, and a tremendous amount of work went into this project. It impacted me like no other album in 06. I corresponded with a Romanian, and he told me, the language used on "OM" is of an ancient Romanian dialect that even a native Romanian of today could not decipher. So he said, I just let the music move me. The only other album since "OM" that has obliterated me is easily-Esoteric-"The Maniacal Vale." If TMV is not album of 2008, there is seriously something wrong.

My GOD you've got a great memory. Either that or I'm just getting way too old :erk:

If anyone is interested, I wrote this in regards to Om around 2 years ago. Bottom of page.

Speaking of wittr- two hunters, I finally managed to find the two bonus tracks released only with the Two Hunters LP. One is an extended version of Cleansing (running at 16:01 as apposed to 9:55) plus the entirely new track "To Reveal" which runs at 16:54. I am waiting on the torrent which only has 1 seed and is taking a while, has anyone heard these tracks? If the bonus track is half as good as TH it will be pretty awesome to say the least. Oh and I also finally found an mp3 of the bonus track from 'n "Vazduh" which is a pretty good song.

Google dude.

Just be thoughtful about how you search for things, and you can find anything. Checking blogspot in your searches also helps a LOT.

I don't use torrents anywhere near as much as I used to. The further I dig the rarer the music gets which obviously means less seeders. Blog search, all the .rar search engines and google search is what I mainly use. I'll pm you some links if you would like Carta's. I did happen to use a torrent for that wittr file as a last attempt and it managed to pick up one seeder after ages. Oh and as Hubster is saying everything is on the net, it's just a matter of knowing the specific areas to look ;).

The extended version of Cleansing was awesome, it has around 7 minutes of ambient/minimalist work in the veins of TH. I listened to Two Hunters again with the extended version of Cleansing as apposed to the shorter version and it makes sense that they cut it down. It was still fantastic, but it slowed the pace down too much. Very worth listening to if you get the chance. The new track "To Reveal" was quite good as well, not as good as the rest of the album and the production was rawer, but an interesting track non the less. I have to listen to it more before I can make a detailed response to it, but like all wittr it's great.

WITTR are one of the most over-rated bands in black metal today (along with Nachtmystium). I think people cream over them simply because of that fact that the US isn't producing another lo-fi Xasthur clone/another Judas Iscariot [who are also average imo]) for a change, they bring nothing new to the table. They aren't shit by any means, but certainly don't deserve the attention they're getting imo.

Krallice > WITTR

I agree that Nachtmystium are overrated, but WITTR are no less excellent because of it. 'Two Hunters' is the only thing they've done that's completely held my attention though.
