Nevermore release date...

No, I just think that their music is fucking terrible. :loco: I owned Dead Heart in a Dead World, and I've heard most of their other stuff. My involvement in the Neverboard was only for the good company, nothing else. I did not have sexual relations with that woman.

there's your problem, no one should own Dead Heart

and also, I'm surprised you stuck around any longer than a day, if that was the case

</obligatory jab at neverboard>

Max, using Dead Heart as a way to judge Nevermore's abilities is a bigger joke than Believe in Nothing. Here are DHIADW's best songs:
Dead Heart
Heart Collector
Insignificant

River Dragon is good, yes. the main part of the song that MAKES it good is the guitar solo, as is the rest of the songs... other than Believe in Nothing, that doesn't really have a mindblowing solo.

With that being said, I can't wait for the new CD

I did declare that I've "heard most of their other stuff". With that being said, I still have absolutely no desire to hear them ever again.

No, it's because 90% of Nevermore fans write Warrel's name in feces on their wall and takes pictures whenever he submits a post.... that or they offer to violently suck his penis.... or like, cut his name into their skin.

Edit: And because RC has people that share my musical tastes besides you and Matt. The feces comment was not aimed at Cara.

:hohoho:

yes my post was not serious.

Well ok.... maybe acie moved over to RC because he wanted to be trendy.

ANd now for my worthless opinion based purely on The Politics of Ecstasy and seeing the band in a live setting, twice.

I can see why people like them. They are fairly easy listening, the singer is OK, and again, easy to listen to compared to a death/black metal vocalist. They are pretty heavy. That being said, the band just bores me. Nothing really wrong with them, but nothing amazingly right, either.

Agreed. Shame we had to find out there's nothing of the sort (Minus a few good people, you know who I'm talking about.)

My favorites on that disc include:

Narcosynthesis
Inside Four Walls
Engines of Hate
Sound of Silence

Zod

Warrel pulls out all the tracks on that one, when I listen to it it's another reminder that people who think his voice hurts the band are dumbasses. My favorite track from Dead Heart would have to be the title track. Oh god, that riff. It left a permanent footprint on my ass the first time I heard it.

I didn't even realize that this was "the thing to do?" :err: :p

and yet I'll point out there's a sharp incline in songwriting quality compared to Dead Heart, funny huh

There's nothing on EoR that comes close to the songcraft of "Heart Collector" or "Inside Four Walls".

Nevermore shats upon all the silly black metal worshipped on this forum.

The production hurt it tremedously. However, I think a number of other factors contributed. As I understand it, CM cut their recording budget by two thirds. Aside from the fact that this meant them losing Sneap, it also meant that rather than recording in their usual studio, they had to record in Jeff's house. If CM was being this hardline with their negotiating tactics, I'd be surprised if they weren't threatening the band with withholding tour support. Add into this the prospect of shopping for a new deal, and I have to imagine that the band was not in a state of mind condusive to writng music.

Interesting. But then you get people like Jim Shepard going on record and stating that EoR is their best record and it's the future of Nevermore blah blah. Did you ever read the interview he gave us? He was clear in speaking for the band that the last half of EoR is going to be representative of future Nevermore.

MG: What’s your personal opinion of Enemies of Reality then?

JS: Well questions like that are usually hard to answer, and usually I feel a little self-indulgent, but this time I feel really natural with an answer in saying that it’s a stepping stone to the future of NEVERMORE. It’s not our best production ever, but I think the songs are the best we’ve ever written and what carries the record is the quality of song writing. I think from the beginning of this record with “Enemies of Reality”, it starts off very NEVERMORE sounding, but towards the end of with “Seed Awakening”, we’re a new band. I think that holds a little tension for when we put out our next record under a new contract.

MG: I want to go on record here and say that Enemies of Reality could be the bands finest moment.

JS: I would easily agree. I think it’s a snapshot of bigger things because I think we’re at a crossroads and this record was very important for us. Like I said, if you start at the song “Enemies of Reality”, you’ll see us progress into a different band with “Seed Awakening”.
