i was just asking myself, "why the fuck am i reading this boring ass thread of everyone whining about some festival i dont give a shit about and wasnt going to attend anyway?!" and then this pearl of wisdom drops like napalm over hanoi to educate the young and the ignorant. you're done a great service to the community (thread still sucks though)!

Just got this via email:

NEVERMORE regretfully announce that they will not be unable to perform at this year’s New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. According to Jeff Loomis (guitar), the band were unable to replace Chris Broderick, who joined Megadeth recently, and are unable to play as a 4-piece. Loomis further comments: “We have tried to work as a 4-piece band, but were unable to reach the real NEVERMORE sound, especially in a live setting, which is what our fans could expect from us. We really feel sorry about this, as we know that our fans were waiting to see us at the New England Metal Fest. We hope to see you all soon.”

It's not that they can't play. Fuck I wish Calvert worked out. That blizzard ass night that took me five hours to get to Detroit and the dumpy I-Rock to watch them and In Flames play to like 50 people was killer. Sat RIGHT next to the stage and just got loaded, DNB all the way through and Seven Tongues. My buddy and I were hooting fools and sent I don't know how many trays of drinks to thet stage.
