Well, the French man dealt with spoiled Norwegian kids, poor and difficult Ukrainian kids, annoying little French kids but never encountered anything like in Britain. Worked in 2 schools and had the same problem with almost all of them. But sure, I won't call all the British kid stupid or rude. I do have in each of my classes one or two adorable, respectful, hardworking and clever pupils. But I can't just ignore the rest of the class, especially in a country like England where it's all about differentiation and inclusion.
But sorry to tell you that, British parents, in a vast majority, have given up their responsibility and expect schools and teachers to act as substitutes. And I haven't seen this in any other country before.
Also, I might need to specify that I work in Northern England, might be different in the Same (I hope so), so poverty could have something to do with it. But people in Ukraine are living in misery. And even though they try to act as wannabe gangsters, they respect deeply teachers and their teaching. Which is still unseen as of yet in England.
