New Black Dahlia Murder album coming out!!

Never really got into them, none of their songs ever caught my attention and just bored me really, I will try their new album and see if it's any good though.

Nocturnal is a cool album. Never listened to Miasma.

Their gig last year was very good, awesome drummer and great vocals.

I'm really anticipating their new one. Don't understand why they get so much hate.

Yea same I really like Unhallowed, never bothered to get Miasma, Nocturnal was decent.. not sure why everyone makes such a big deal about them though. They're an alright band, I hear their new dvd is hilarious.

These 3 came to mind:

Well, that makes total fucking sense comparing it to the first and last because the same fuckin' artist did all 3.

no, they are infinitely more gay because they do that ridiculously stupid-sounding high screaming shit more than those bands.

No there less gay cuz they play some kick ass melodic death, black metal riffs...With alot of energy and have some of my favorite solos.

OP here: C'mon I said BDM aren't progessing, but they aren't a bad band!! I really got to stick up for them here and ask if any of you guys have heard the song Statutory Ape on Miasma?? It's such a progessive, catchy, full of content song that is seriously one of my favorite songs thoughout history, I already loved bands like DT, and this song blew me away. It sounded just like old melodeath, but with a update, sorta like DT's character album but way more brutal. Actually, if you were to take DT's The Gallery, and do a deathcore cover of one of the songs, that's what Statutory Ape would sound like. Even the solo in the song is heavily influenced by ATG.

But sadly, almost none of BDM's songs come close to matching the bar of Statutory Ape, and only seem like slow, churning rip offs of a hit or aren't catchy at all and sound like JFAC. They seriously need to find a better forumla for thier songs.

Beyond Statutory Ape (which is amazing, will blow you away), I suggest songs:
Miasma
A Vulgar Picture
Everything Went Black

Theese also throw a pretty big punch for everything we here seem to value in songs. But yeah, I like BMD for the record, I think they're hearts used to totally be in the right place for delivering melodeath with deathcore influence (or vise versa) but it truly depressens me that they don't hop over to Century Media or Nuclear Blast where experimenting is supported. BDM have almost lost everything that made them unique.

Yeah, well some of us just don't like this kinda shit. We don't need that long of an explanation because you're talking about a style of music that a good portion of metal fans JUST DON'T LIKE.

I just listened to 'Statutory Ape' and I really can't distinguish it from anything else I've heard by them. Sorry if I'm judging it on the fanbase, V5 (since I know you hate that), but I can't help but picture a bunch of those dancing idiots when listening to this band.
